Great Article about Thad and Billy King

The only thing that surprised me about that was Thad saying "he's hoping to be the beneficiary of the new offense". Sounds like hes ready compete with dre for sixers mvp this year. Also we've had some great draft picks for the past few years. Dileo is great at finding talent. I would even go as far to say only the thunder/blazers have had better drafts then us, but they have been consistently picking in the top 5 for years...

The only thing I havnt seen in thad that might keep him from being a star in this league is killer instinct. Iggy showed some these last couple of years but his is still not where it needs to be either.Louwill had it ever since he first came in the league.

Imagine how much worse this team would be if we had Yi instead of Young and Smith. Just ugly. Nice article though. That draft was so anticipated and hyped as one of the deepest drafts ever due to the age limit rule being implemented. So many others were being touted as star caliber players and Young ended up taking a back seat to guys like Conley, Brewer, Yi, Wright, Thornton, Noah, Hawes, etc. Looking back on it, most people would take Thad over all of the aforementioned names without thinking twice.

Thad has the skill, work ethic, and character to be a star in the NBA. No easy feat at the SF position, but I believe he'll eventually get there.

The key to guys like Noah, Thorton, Wright, Yi were all the same=they're big and can touch a basketball.

Didn't matter that most like Noah and Yi sucked. Even Horford. Look at his career stats. Top-3 pick worthy? Hah.

Hawes is just a good of a center(#10) as Horford is at #3.

Say they go with Al Horford at #3. Acie Law Over Rodney Stuckey? :D.

The Hawks franchise, teams like them and the Raptors make you forget how desperate your situation is.
"What did he(Brand) play 40 minutes? I guess I was wrong"-Eddie Jordan on being so painfully clueless! Brand: 19/11/6 BLKS.

Noah more than doubled his regular season rebounding in the playoffs, pulling down 13 per game. Only Dwight Howard averaged more than that during the regular season. That doesn't suck. When the Bulls caught fire against the Celtics, his play was part of the reason why.

yea its a catch 22 in the draft of no stars...
Thad is certainly looking better than alot of people picked ahead of him...

BUT Noah is turning into a solid 10-10 2blk guy, which doesnt hurt anyone.I still wouldnt be mad if we had him.
Horford whle he still isnt a scoring machine, is a double double machine, with a decent IQ and body which the Hawks need and needed big time at the time of the draft...

Thornton (who i hate) is a solid scoring 3 and an excellent athlete... If he we on the sixers roster instead of thad, hed likely be posting similar numbers.

All in all Thad was a gem pick. I was all about him before the draft and still am.I still think he lacks the killer instinct(which i think you just have, not learn) and perimeter handling/scoring to allow him to become anything more than a 2nd tier guy like Iguodala. Hes clearly better than Yi,Brewer,Wright, etc but you cant really compare him with Noah,Horford they bring 2 totally different things to a team.

ive said it before and will say it again... i think Thads ceiling is a mixture of Antawn Jamsion and Iguodala...and unless he drastically improves his shooting, scoring mentality and ball handling(which could poss happen) i cant see him entering the level of the elite sf's ala paul pierce, carmelo anthony, kevin durant, etc.
