I am a Celtics fan, but I also follow the Warriors pretty closely. Also thought that you guys were the best team last year that just ran into a bad matchup. But times have changed. Boston, LA and Orlando would wreck you this season.
This is what you need to do:
Get rid of Shaq immediately. The only thing that passes for offense on your team is a bunch of guys playings off of one of the best slashers ever. If they aren't getting those open looks off of LeBron's drive and dishes, you might as well waive half of the dudes on your team. And Shaq is clogging up the paint like crazy for LeBron. Worst possible complement imaginable.
And he is killing you on defense, which was the strength of your team after LeBron. Guy hasn't covered the pick and roll in like 5 years.
Oh... and he is like 350 pounds, totally out of shape and will turn 38 in March.
This is not just a couple of bad games. Shaq is a COMPLETE TRAIN WRECK FOR YOU GUYS, PERIOD.
There is no way you beat the Celts or Magic if you stay pat. And I don't see why LeBron would stay with your crap team and crap city over heading to Brooklyn next year to play with Devin Harris, Terrence Williams, Yi, Lopez, a Top 5 pick, a billionaire owner, and whatever other FAs they can get to take their cap room.
Against my better judgment as a Cs fan, I gotta tell you... this is serious business. You could lose a potential GOAT if you just sit there.
So here is my trade... Shaq/Hickson/Delonte/2011 pick for Stephen Jackson/Maggette/Biedrins.
Warriors are stuck between pretending to compete and playing for 2012. That deal let's them quietly tank while shedding massive payroll. And it gives you guys a lineup of:
Mo/Boobie
Jax/Mags
LBJ/Parker
Varejao/Moon/Powe
Biedrins/Ilgauskas
Do it now. You will need all the time you can get to build chemistry before the playoffs start.
