Starting/Depth Chart Malaise

Postby Chris Cohan on Sat Oct 31, 2009 12:22 pm

The talk points on minutes/starting are pro- Curry and Randolph, per the ticket sales agenda.

But Maggette is already ahead of Randolph for minutes and Watson is sure to take over for our over-hyped (but not totally devoid of value) famous rookie, who is currently playing entire games and getting the expected rah rah returns from the homers but can't lead a team to save his cocky li'l life.
I can't keep track of their BS any more.

And the counter-talk points are Maggs' minutes (even though AR got more last night) and a scrub D-leaguer overthrowing Nellie's pet project..

More effort needed

Mins look even because Maggette didn't play the 4thQ, it was a 20-pt blowout by then. The 4thQ(garbage time) accounted for half the mins Randolph played, same for Morrow. It was ugly, you probably missed the game and you're lucky if you did.

Game time is game time.... a couple of years ago, everyone (myself included) bitched about not giving the actual rookies run in garbage time.. now its shifting again.

All w/AR coming off a bad back... this backlash was pretty predictable once AR hurt himself

Nellie finally trying to inflict some punishment on Jackass by playing his dumbass @ pf. LOL @ Jack having to guard ZBo down in the low block. This should be enough to push Jack over the edge for sure. Imagine Jack after getting a wiff of ZBo's stank ass for a quarter or two. Jack's going to go ballistic.

May be a combination of AR not being 100%, Turiaf being out, and Buke being healthy and producing well.

More smallball, I wish I could give up and not watch a single game. But the warriors are like an addictive drug.

I'm wondering if I should be hoping that ZBo puts Jack on injured list (which would make it impossible to trade him)? A real dilemma for me. I like the fact that Nellie's going to play Bukie 3. Regardless, we should really pray for Bukie to have a big game. That could effectively cut both Jack's and Maggette's minutes. His playing Randolph @ Center is going to try and cut into Beans minutes (which haven't been too great as it is). Is Nellie doing this to punish Jack or is he doing it to get smallball back into the forefront? That's the big question to me. Either way, it will be worth it to see Jack get beat up.

Nellie's doin it because none of the big guys or the big guy lineups have been good. Let's face it.....as much as we want to shaft Nellie for everything....the players haven't played very well up front.

Randolph has decent numbers for his 34 total minutes, but he's been erratic. If he could just take it down one notch, he'd be fine and the production is there. I personally don't mind Randolph as a center, but that means crap at the 4.

Maggette has been absolutely horrible to start the year and there's no way to get away from it unless he gets injured.

Putting Jackson at 4 won't last long, he'll switch back and forth with Buki to start the game, but both will be dominated by Z-bo.

Gay's really long...and they have Arthur coming off the bench this year. Not to mention Haddadi.

This is gonna be a really tough game for us if Memphis is hitting shots. Beans and Randoph both have to have their best games of the young year.
It'll be a cold day in Hell before pigs fly and the Warriors make the playoffs.

My question to you Mylie is, if Randolph has been all that erratic in averaging just 17.5 minutes a game so far (many of those in garbage time against the Suns when the game was literally over, that's where CJ and Mikki Moore should be getting their minutes from) then what about the rest of the guys. Considering Andris is only averaging 25 mpg thus far (only 20 in the Phoenix game) in spite of shooting almost 90%, who's been getting all the minutes in our two losses? Turiafs only averaged 21 per game. Not Andris or Randolph, that's for sure.

If you were to look @ Randolph on a per basis (even with his 30% shooting thus far), you'd see he'd be averaging 20.6 ppg and 11.3 rebounds. One of the reasons that his shooting % is so low is that a lot of those missed shots came during garbage time (which he really shouldn't be playing much).

http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... oan01.html

None of the big guys? Andris is shooting almost 90% his first two games. 4-4 on fgs and 10 rebounds in just 20 minutes. Do the math. Go ahead and fall the Nellie big man put down once more. Both Randolph and Beans need to get 30 mpg for a stretch and allowed to get used to playing together, not for just one or two games.

How exactly is Z-Bo going to guard Stephen Jackson?
