WTF @ this LAC Trade?!

Postby Bartender on Sat Oct 31, 2009 7:19 pm

So I was listening to Sports Radio and they were saying that Joey D. and the LAC are having serious discussions on a trade.

The trade is:

Rip Hamilton and Rodney Stuckey

for

Chris Kaman and Baron Davis

Has anybody else heard of this? Is there any truth in this? I hope to God not.

that trade is nowhere near realistic as far as salaries are concerned. The Pistons would have to include Kwame and Max just to make it possible.

B.Davis/W.Bynum
B.Gordon/?
T.Prince/A.Daye
CV/C.Wilcox
C.Kaman/B.Wallace

doesn't really look like a worse team.

Could Baron and Ben co-exist though?

why wouldn't they?

Baron averages 7 assists a game every season, and he never had an offensive threat like Gordon beside him. Davis is big enough and quick enough to help cover Gordon's defensive woes too. I could see them fitting together nicely in a hypothetical situation.

My only concern would be Davis' health and age. He took a step back as a scorer last year, but still distributed the ball well. Ideally another SG would be added for depth, hopefully a defensive one.

If this was true though, there would of been no reason to let go of Washington.

I don't see this trade happening either. It sounds more like blind hype. I wouldn't be opposed to it necessarily if it was somehow true though.

Don't worry, no way there's any truth to it.

LAC is way too high on Gordon. Plus, if they are trading a center I have to think it would be Camby (even with him being an expiring)

while I can hardly believe it, the AI-Chauncey trade kinda started like this.... So I'm gonna hope that this is BS

what sports radio program was it?

This makes all the difference as to whether I should tell my cousins to buy their Stuckey jerseys yet or not.

I highly doubt there is any truth to it. My biggest concern would be Baron Davis injuries, which has already been brought up.

I'm more worried about Kaman injuries over Davis injuries.

Makes no sense whatsoever. I can admit that we would replace Rip's bad contract with Baron's bad contract (they are pretty much the same amount and length), and we definitely could use Kaman, but why on earth would the Clippers want Rip while they have Eric Gordon ?

Kaman is young enough to recover from injuries. He hasn't shown any decline in his stats either.

I still want to know where you heard this from though. i'm starting to think you made it up.

A package with Tay makes alot more sense for them.
