Preview

The New York Knicks have lost their last two games despite rallying to force overtime in each one. Avoiding early deficits might finally help them get their first win.

The Knicks look to avoid their first 0-4 start in four seasons Monday night when they host a New Orleans Hornets team coming off an emotional loss.

Outscored by an average of 17.0 points in the first quarter of its last two games, New York (0-3) has managed to fight back into both with big fourth quarters. The Knicks outscored the Charlotte 27-13 in the fourth to force overtime Friday night, then had a 41-26 advantage in the final quarter against Philadelphia on Saturday.

I think Saints/Falcons will be the game to watch tonight although I'll probably be checking out both of them.

I think this game will be good for the Hornets; in the sense that they will really have a chance to get out and run. I think Julian Wright will have a nice night - if he can crack 20 points then the Hornets should have a decent shot at the win.

back-to-backs are tough, and the knicks are hungry after a disappointing OT loss to the sixers a couple nights ago. I think this will be a really good, close game.

Wtf is Paul doing? Dude looks lethargic out there. Doesn't he realize this Hornets team cannot score without him? Take control of the game.

^EO50 had a nice game.

I'm almost certain that Okafor and Paul have the two worst backups at their respective positions.

This season is a wash for the Hornets. They don't have the talent to compete this season and Scott will not be coaching them next season.

What's the difference between this years team and the one's from previous years that were extremely successful? I think you guys need to give this some time and, as Paul said, try to figure out what your identity is.

Okafor by the looks of it is causing a shift in the Hornets tempo (unlike West who moves well without the ball, can shoot the face up jumper and who feeds off of Paul's ball movement, Okafor is more of a post guy that is used to getting the ball and doing his own thing). That's why a guy like Chandler fit so well because he didn't force Paul or West's games to have to change.

But Paul, West and Okafor are not a puny trio. They can be potent if they can figure their new roles out. Whether Scott is the coach that can best do that? Who knows.
