Jackass quote of the day

Postby turk3d on Mon Nov 02, 2009 8:59 am

After Bukie's comments regarding the Phoenix game in which he stated that "the team made a lot of mental mistakes" and had "too many unforced turnovers"

Jack's response to his comment was the following:

JACKSON: “It’s a new team, so guys have to figure out how I want the ball.

Thanks Jack. Now we all know what the problem is.

I think we need to have a thread dedicated to the many Jackisms we'll continue to receive until he's traded.

Uh....that's settling for just about the worst possible outcome. Jackson is a KNOWN loose cannon/motormouth.....and almost irrelevant here, aside from the fact that as our recent top scorer, and an established NBA starter he has SOME value to quite a few teams. Us getting a few DNP grade expirings is basically the "giveaway" Riley/Nellie said they do not want ...for now. Peja is about $14 million WORSE than that. We'd be as well off trading for Eddy Curry (who costs a bit less) and Curry is rated the "worst contract" in the NBA. Maybe if the Hornets include their #1,with minimal protection, but even then it's borderline.

I'd LOVE to see a GOOD end to the Jackson era,but I think GSW has a nasty history of getting punked when there's a rush to delete a player.
Thanks to those Republicans, now every week has a 7 day weekend.

Man I would love that deal. Peja could contribute and only has two years left.

Peja is being extremely underrated by some here imo. 26 pts in just 23 minutes last night. Big contract yes, but only two years and a guy who could succeed in our style of play. We won't have to worry about Nellie running him out @ the 4, because if he did, he wouldn't last too long before he'd be out for the season which would open up even more minutes for someone who really would prefer get them anyway. Of course, I'd take a NO #1 too if we (by some miracle) get one. A #2 might be more realistic, but not if he keeps having nights like the one he did yesterday.

Yeah, I have to say that at this point Jackson's a serious liability. (And that quote, by the way, is even better than the one I have in my sig, but I'm too lazy to change.) I'd pretty much take pocket change and chewed gum for him, even knowing how we have a history of it. But if it's a choice between that and waiting while he poisons the younger players with his "It's about me" BS, then I say, Peja would be quite, quite acceptable.

That quote is classic. It's like he's actually trying to be a caricature of himself.

He's actually going so far around the corner that he's about to become my favorite player for unintentional comedy.

I saw the title of the thread and I just knew it was this quote.

The Nellie circus continues. It's like he attracts this stuff.

Rem, your an optimistic character. There is no team in the league that would offer anything good for Jack. He's blowing his trade value, and I can see no team give up a 1st round pick for him. I even doubt the Hornets would do it, why add in extra years for a headcase in Jack, at the same time prolong the growth of their young gun in Julian Wright.

The best deals we can get for Jack is a expiring contract with some end of the bench guys, a second round pick would be stretching it.

Yeah, The only way we get anything of value for Jackass is from a team that is contending and seriously desperate for help. Cavs fit the bill if the Shaq experiment continues to fail and their chemistry continues to look shaky. So basically, we should be going for every team that is playing the Cavs right now.

Nelson and Riley have decided on Jackson's punishment. They're not going to trade him at all. They're starting him at power forward against the Grizzlies. THAT'LL show him. I'm not sure what it'll show him, but who cares? Nobody in this organization has a plan anyway.
