OT: Sam loses his mind (whoops, link added)

Edit: I swear I put the link in here already...

So how does it get done?

The Lakers certainly have no salary cap room. They are in no position to pay James, which remains the No. 1 priority for all free agents. James just has to explain to the Cavs he’s leaving. If they don’t accommodate him, he’s going to New York or Miami and they get nothing. But if they do in a sign and trade to save the franchise, they get a young, potential All-Star center in Andrew Bynum. Maybe Lamar Odom as well or Ron Artest. Draft picks, some pieces like Jordan Farmar. The Cavs can compete in the East with a star center and some pieces added to what they have. It’s better than nothing as cap room doesn’t mean anything in Cleveland. No one’s going there.

Look, I believe James has no idea yet what he wants to do next summer. But I also believe the Lakers’ scenario makes the most sense for him if he wants a chance to be considered among the greatest winners of all-time. I believe that’s what he’s about now, and he accomplishes that only with the Lakers.

Now, I know everyone likes to cover every possible scenario, and an article involving James and the Lakers gets a lot of reads...but come on.

Ugh. I'd eat my hat if that happened. First, I'd buy a hat, THEN I'd eat it.

That does seem like a "look at me! LOOK AT ME!!!" kind of article. Yes Sam, we've looked before and we have found you wanting...

Sam is still very close to Phil.

Phil may have to stay on as coach for a few years in order to please his girlfriend.

So he tells Sam to do his best to get him LeBron.

Kobe would not approve of that trade. He finally wrestle the "Big Dog title in LA" away from Shaq, only to have to share it again with Lebron? Don't think so. Lebron James to LA is about as longshot a New York Knicks winning the NBA title this yr.

Not to mention, Cleveland would be bad after this trade. Well, they would be 'competing', Sam, in the sense that most teams try to compete, but they would be a bad team and go from a contender in the east to back in the lower playoff/miss playoff mix.
The Bulls (and Bears) will win most of their home games, and lose most of their road games. Please be advised, and overreact accordingly. :)
