Question on KG

Postby CellarDoor on Mon Nov 02, 2009 4:17 pm

Hey guys, first of all I wanted to say your team looks great this year.

I actually came here to get your opinions on KG. I've only gotten to see about 3/4 of the Chicago game and half the Cleveland game, but it seems like he's toned his theatrics down. For those of you who have been watching all the games this year, does it seem like he's a little bit more no nonsense now than in the past?

I've always liked KGs game a lot, but I've been pretty bothered by his actions. I'm sort of old school in all sports where I'm not a huge fan of celebrations and just being boisterous in general.

So how about it, does he seem reformed?

Too early to say, discuss again after 15 to 20 games. Even if he is trying to "tone it down" its hard to change a "lifetime habit".
Rondo is worth more than the $10 million he told Maxwell he would sign for. If we wait for free agency it will cost us more.

you know what i have noticed......is his hobbling between certain moves....

KG is healthier than last year.....but I don't think he's even 80% healthy.

To me anytime he explodes to the hoop for an alley oop he comes down real gingerly and hobbles for a second before running normal....maybe it's in his head....and he's being pre-cautious with it.

I do recall reading somehwere that a Bulls player after the game on Friday said that KG's knee doesn't look right. I somewhat agree.....but only KG and the training staff know for sure.

Um, I'd have to say that his actions look the same. For instance, last night I think it was Bobby Brown who threw up a floater that KG just swallowed and then KG was pretty demonstrative towards the guy. I am fine with that. it is pretty fun to be hated nationally and KG is by all accounts a great guy off the court so any antics he does are great. I'd much rather have a guy that cares about the game than someone like Vince Carter if you know what I mean.

He had one sweet alley oop last game that i caught the highlight of...it seemed like he moved alright after it too, but in the Chicago game he missed an alley-oop and looked incredibly uncomfortable. I'm not sure where he's at right now.

He looks fine to me and doesn't seem to be favoring anything. I'm just not sure he's in the shape he would be hoping to be in if he had a healthy off season.

KG will always bring that intensity to the Celtics. Personally I love guys who show that emotion. I'm so tired of professional athletes just looking like they are going through the motions. I know it's a different sport, but that is one of the main reasons I didn't care all that much for the Red Sox team.

He's fine. Anyone that has gone through a bad injury like he has knows its a long road to recovery and the worst part is getting back to your old form before you got injured, but I think from the looks of it he's fine.

Not at all, he's the same KG as usual. As Banks2Pierce mentioned, he was just flat out brutal to Bobby Brown after he had a sick block on him. And I loved every second of it.

In fact, I'd say that instance was worse than usual, not better. Usually after a block he'll just yell "get that **** outta here man!" but with Brown he followed him down the court for about 10 feet screaming swears at him.

The funny thing to me is that he's going inside more than he has in a while. Ironic especially considering that his jumper looked even better than usual this preseason. He's looking fantastic in every way except for athleticism; hopefully that's a conditioning/strength issue.

I don't see any issues when he's running. Looks more like a conditioning/strength issue than anything else. I'm sure there are times when he thinks about it, but I haven't seen it affect his play at all. I hope Doc keeps his minutes on the lower end to start and slowly build him back up so that he's firing on all cylinders come the 2nd half. The emergence of a competent Sheldon Williams should help, as well as the eventual return of BBD.

It seems to be there when he needs it but there is definitely a limp at times it may be more of a range of motion thing and it may have always been there nobody bothered to notice.

As for the act nothing has really changed he just hasn't done it to a Dino yet so the crying and wailing have been at a minimum. MF everyone in sight and even dared to guard an opposing teams pg, of course it was Chris Paul and he was destroying us at the time so there was no outrage.
