The Knicks beat the Hornets today. This is doubly good for us because 1) The Hornets; a conference rival, lose, and 2) the Jazz get their pick so we want the Knicks to win as many games as possible this year.

The Jazz had a rotten day. Right after they see the Knicks win, they lose to the Rockets. Houston is off to a good start.

I was amazed to see that Houston spanked Utah in Utah by 17 points. Are they really that good? We are the only team that has beaten them so far.

Watching Sacramento vs. Memphis right now. I'm pretty impressed with Sacramento, Kevin Martin is being himself (deadly shooter!) and Casspi is also surprisingly good.

Can Sergio honestly be happier in Sacramento? He's not playing at all. I guess it means something when your backup PG from last year is glued to the bench in Sacramento. I remember someone saying that Sergio would be back in Europe before long. At this rate I wouldn't be surprised.

In retrospect I wish Bayless had gotten way more playing time last year.

I'm watching the Clipper/TWolf game via free nba league pass week between commercials of the Saints/Falcons. I tell you there is no way I will ever pay for league pass until they get Hi Def standard for all games. This stuff is close to unwatchable on my lcd tv. Halftime now though.

what is it with the Rockets?

they must all love each other or something lol.. unreal chemistry. with that team they should struggle to win games, but yet they win and win. Adelman is doing a great job.

That's weird, I'm getting the Kings announcers. I like them. Liked em ever since they did our first preseason game last year.

I swear Udrih is really, really clutch. It seems like every time I watch him in a close game he hits a huge shot!

I'm watching on broadband so maybe the TV and broadband feeds are different. I know my feed is the Kings because it says "KINGSTV" in the lower right corner.

This game is pretty fun to watch. Mayo plays a little too out of control for my taste. Maybe I'm just spoiled by B-Roy. Still, Mayo is a really good player, I can't deny it.

And Martin is SICK! 45 points!

Here's an interesting tidbit:

Every team Portland has faced this year is undefeated against opponents other than the Blazers. Yes, we've gotten off to a bad start, but Houston seems to be better than we thought they would be, Denver has started the season in great form, and Oklahoma City is a team on the rise that had 2 good road wins to open the season.

it's way too early to see much in the way of trends

and I don't believe OKC will rise as much as many people think. Besides that their "2 good road wins" weren't quite that good. For one thing, one of the roads wins was actually a game played at home against Sacramento...no challenge there. And the real road win was against the Pistons, and they don't look very good so far

Sergio remains one of the most overrated Blazers in recent memory. He had far too many flaws too his game and I doubt they were/are correctable, even if he was willing to work on them...which he didn't really show an inclination to do.

Unfortunately, one of the people that grossly overrated Sergio was KP. And while KP was overrating him, Sergio's trade value sunk to that of a 2nd round pick, when a year earlier it would have been quite a bit higher.

Whether or not Bayless should have got more burn, I can't really say. Probably, considering Sergio isn't a Blazer anymore.

LMAO. Iverson has already started complaining in Memphis. He's gone from veteran leader to malcontent in a single game. That's got to be some sort of record...

“I had no problems (with the hamstring)," Iverson told reporters after the game. "I had a problem with my butt sitting on that bench for so long."

The mercurial guard is already pressuring Memphis coach Lionel Hollins to insert him into the starting lineup, saying he's never been a reserve and doesn't plan on filling that role now.
