If the idea of putting MIller on the bench so our second team could extend leads, it clearly hasn't worked.

+/- stats after 40 games might have some meaning. and reveal a few things

after only 4 games it is essentially useless

^An example of something interesting you can say using raw plus/minus.^

Nice to see around here instead of "OMG BLAKE -9 WINGFIELD +16 FIRE NATE".

We were again terrible with Miller on the floor (-11).

I'm starting to get frustrated with how long it is taking everybody to "adjust" to Miller.

I agree Miller was the worst +- player again tonight with -13.

not fair at all for tonight.

the only time miller saw significant playing time was with the miller/blake/roy/outlaw/aldridge lineup.

Ofc his +/- was screwed tonight.

Miller and Outlaw are both 2nd unit bench players. Outlaw is +13 and Miller is -27, no reason for there to be a 40 point difference between them. Miller just doesn't make the players around him better. Miller has disrupted the flow of the second unit.

Plus/Minus Numbers for todays game:

Brandon Roy +15
Andre Miller +14
Greg Oden +13
Steve Blake +7
Travis Outlaw +7
LaMarcus Aldridge +6
Martell Webster +5
Jerryd Bayless +2
Rudy Fernandez -3
Juwan Howard -3
Joel Przybilla -3

Miller needs to keep starting as he is more effective that way.

all you have to do is to have watched the game and then see that Przybilla had the worst +/- on the team. That's a sure sign that +/- for a single game is meaningless

For the last couple of years it has been very trendy on message boards to use PER as the defining statistic on a players value/worth/effectiveness. While PER is neat it is completely useless when used by itself. This year +/- seems to be the in vogue stat, and this is really sad because it is by far the most meaningless stat ever used in any professional sport. It has no use or relevance whatsoever, because it has absolutely nothing to do with the individual players it's assigned to. The only way +/- could be useful is if it was assigned to units vs. units.
