Shocking: AI not happy coming off bench

Postby RatkoVarda on Tue Nov 03, 2009 12:06 pm

this is very surprising:

Allen Iverson was as upset after his first game with the Grizzlies. After missing the first three games while recovering from a partial right hamstring tear, Iverson played only briefly as a reserve, scoring 11 points in less than 18 minutes.

He said he had no problems with his hamstring, but had a big problem with the playing time he got from coach Lionel Hollins.

"Go look at my resume and that will show you that I'm not a sixth man," Iverson said. "I don't think it has anything to do with me being selfish. It's just who I am. I don't want to change what gave me all the success that I've had since I've been in this league."

The "look at my resume" crap gets pretty old.

Unless AI gets to a place like Charlotte where he can still be the "man" he'll be out of the league next year.

It's just said he has no idea that he isn't nearly as good as he used to be.

I don't know when AI will come to grips with the fact that there are honestly no positions that teams are willing to offer in their starting lineups for him to log full minutes. We may have started that trend. ;)

We really don't need a thread here. AI is not a Piston. His trantrums don't affect us anymore.

Well it's sort of vindication for all the **** we took last year.

I wonder if the Iverson fan boys have invaded the Memphis board.

His fanbois won't stop blaming Rip and the Pistons for everything wrong with AI. Him pulling the same stunt in Memphis will be Memhpis' fault and AI will be the victim once again. It won't end.

I'm sure AI and Memphis discussed with him the possibility of coming off the bench, so it's on him. I assume he signed a guaranteed contract, so maybe he's looking to get out after sucking the team into paying him. He'll get bought out and sit at home until a contender loses it's SG or a contender comes calling late in the season.

Now Iverson was a starter in Denver and Detroit traded for him - the situation was not of his choosing or doing and he was in a contract year - last year was on Detroit and Bitchboy. And Iverson isn't the player he was five years ago, but two years ago he had a career year...
Rip Hamilton is a stain on the Pistons franchise.

How could anyone have known adding Iverson to a young team with talented guards and making him come off the bench would be a bad idea?

Nice Job Zach Randolph. I'm honestly suprised that he has fit as well as he is.

I wonder how long it'll be before he gets Memphis to shut him down for the season?

If this keeps up, I doubt anyone will give him another NBA contract.
