Tyrus sent home with Flu like symptoms

Postby AirP. on Tue Nov 03, 2009 1:54 pm

More then likely no Tyrus tonight, he got sent home from the morning shoot around with flu like symptoms.

Coach Vinny Del Negro said Thomas is expected to show up for Tuesday night's home game against the Bucks, at which time a determination will be made on his availability. Taj Gibson will start in Thomas' place should he not play.

More TAJ!

Let's start it up the rumor mill, was the Miami game the last start for Tyrus in a Bulls uniform?

Personally, I would trade Tyrus Thomas. The writing is on the wall in that he will not remain here due to it cutting into our cap space. Why not try to trade him for another player and receive some compensation? However that's a catch-22 in that we need to win this year to appear on the verge to land a FA. If we downgrade, that's not possible.

This is garbage. I don't believe this for a second.
I hate the Bulls front office.
I will always miss Ben Gordon being on the Bulls.
Tyrus Thomas will explode in 2010 - REVISED: Actually, sorry - in 2011, with another team.
Bulls record prediction: 50-32

Argument with the coach, and now he's home with the flu?

Bad timing. He was going up against Warrick. Someone he should have been able to do very well against.

In an unrelated story, Vinny Del Negro was seen coughing on the handles of drawers and cabinets in Tyrus's locker, sticking Tyrus's stapler in his armpit, and rubbing Tyrus's keyboard on his butt.
Kevin Garnett is a **** ****.

The other catch 22 is that you need to trade him for someone also on an expiring contract with no cap hit next season.

This might seem ridiculous right now, but let's assume for a moment that Luol Deng plays at a high level until the trade deadline. Tyrus + Deng for Amare might make a lot of sense for all parties. Granted, it involves Deng proving that he's healthy and a good player. I'm not sure you can count on that, but if it does happen then I think that's still a good trade for us.

or Boozer. However yes this is something that I thought would happen last year if it wasn't for Deng's BYC.

Doug, if Deng plays at that high level, I do not believe the Bulls would trade him for Amare. It's similar to another situation years ago but with a player with greater question-marks. The Bulls are not risk-takers and value certain players on their roster highly.

Concerns with Amare:
-Injury history - Microfracture and eye
-Attitude
-Defense
-From the Bulls perspective, is he worth a Max Contract? Last year around the deadline, numerous reports said the Bulls did not believe he was and Bosh is the Bulls first choice.

Regarding Deng:
-He has been highly regarded by this organization minus a report about him playing through is injury.
-Hard-worker -- Amare probably is, but this is something we constantly hear about Deng
-Received a bigger paycheck despite a down year individually and by the team -- this shows how much the Bulls value him
-The Suns approached the Bulls regarding a Shaq for Deng deal. The Suns later balked at the idea due to Deng's contract. Will likely be an issue further.
-He is a captain
