Reflections on Sessions Now

Postby Awoooga on Tue Nov 03, 2009 1:58 pm

As a Knicks fan, I spent a good portion of this summer on your board reading up on the Sessions chase, trying to get more info and generally enjoying the quality and volume of the board here. I happened to be Sessions fan and I understood the desire of many of the posters here to keep him.

My question is, after the fantastic first two games that Jennings has had (albeit only two but I think he's a stud), do those of you who were really mad at Hammond for letting Sessions go to Minny still feel that way? Sessions has been okay, but really has not had a big game yet.

What are your general feelings on this.

I still prefer we'd matched Sessions.

I would have matched Sessions and looked to move Ridnour by this deadline. Sessions at $4M is a good contract for a player that is projected to improve. Ridnour has been terrible so far this year as well, and we're paying him $2.5M more than Sessions is getting.

Many of us would have preferred he be matched for any of the following reasons:

Reasonable contract 4 yrs/$14 mil.

Better backup than either Ridnour or Ukic

Positive asset that could be moved in the future to improve the team

Instead we decided to let him go for nothing and watch Ridnour and Ukic flail away on the court. Yea.
Redd, Elston, Thomas for Howard and Dampier or Redd for Allen I will take either. Let Blow this team up now! ....or at the trade deadline. Max 3 yr, 9 mil deal for Sessions.

Overrated.

Not worth 4 million dollars.

Not capable of being a leader.

Has no natural abilities.

Passing skills are average at best.

Shooting skills three years into the league aren't any better then his rookie season aka, he's not a good shooter.

Will get burned, and burned, and burned by Brandon Jennings just like he did in preseason.

Will never lead a team to the playoffs if he starts 82 games.

Has no character or charisma, basically he's a lame duck out there.

And last but not least, when Flynn develops, and Rubio comes into the fold, Sessions will be a third string point guard, and rightfully so, he's a pretty bad player.

No brainer match imo.

Another Hammond swing and a miss.

He'd be our starting SG right now, so yes, I wish he was resigned.

LMAO! I love the comedy on realgm. Sessions is one of the worst pg's in the league, why in the hell would Hammond pay him, when Skiles obviously doesn't want him on our roster? Do you think before you post, or do you just make this stuff up as you go?

Too funny.

Uhhhh...what?

Have you seen Sessions play the two?

Where do you make this up?

Sure I do, show me the starting point guard on every NBA team, and I promise Sessions will be in the bottom 5. And if you weren't clueless, you would have noticed that I wrote many reasons why Sessions is one of the top 5 worst starting pg's in the league.
