Is league pass still free on Tues. 11/3?

Postby JBucks on Tue Nov 03, 2009 3:08 pm

Or did it end last night? Want to know if I can watch the Bucks and Bulls tonight (don't live in WI). I never know if when they say "until 11/3" that means it includes 11/3. Anyone able to do a quick check on their cable/sat?

I just checked my account information and it says that the free trial expires Nov. 4 at 7:01 pm. I can still watch archived games so I assume it'll work tonight as well.

Didn't want to start a new topic, but if you're ordering League Pass BB Choice, what 7 teams do you get?

I was thinking...

Bucks
Thunder
Spurs
...

Don't know. The Cavs/Lakers/Celtics are all on TV so much that you probably wouldn't need it for them.

I'd go:

Blazers
Nuggets
Magic
Suns
PG: Jennings
SG: 2011 FA
SF: LRMAM
PF: 2010 Draft
C: Bogut
Bench: Ilyasova, Meeks

I like Luke's picks. Two other teams that I would possibly interested in would be the Clippers and Grizzlies. The Clips moreso to see how Griffen ends up looking and the team is young and athletic. The grizz because along with being a big fan of Mayo, watching Iverson, Mayo, Randolph, Gay fight for the ball would be epic.

On my Time-Warner setup, League Pass shows Bucks/Bulls on 769 at 7pm. I can go to it and watch a few seconds of a Timberwolves game without being asked to subscribe, so that seems to confirm it's still free.

The game is also supposed to be on Fox Sports HD, but I can't find any confirmation of that. When they say "HD" do they mean regular Fox Sports (cable 40) plus the HD channel? Or do they mean just the HD?

Trying to figure out the new channel order. Fox Sports HD is listed as 1309. But the guide shows that channel being off air today. It's also listed as cable 309, but the Guide shows "Ice Dreams" which is what's shown for cable 40 at 7pm..

Anyone know if there's a radio station north of Milwaukee that carries Ted Davis broadcast of the Bucks? In Green Bay or Fox River valley (Appleton). I get WTMJ OK during the day, but at night it breaks up too much.

Last season 1570 was listed as the local station. They carried a few games not many, didn't have the opener, but seemed to consider the Bucks only slightly better than dead air. They'd talk ice fishing or anything if they could, rather than run the game. (For all I know their ratings for games justified the disdain.)

Neither of the past two games have been on Time Warner's FSN-HD channel listing -- it had hockey listed, lol. The Bucks need all the ratings they can get :(

Will the free preview be there until Saturday? Otherwise I am going to have to find another way to catch the Knicks game.

I don't subscribe to normal tv, so I only get the good teams on league pass. My worry is that I'll be frustrated when a third of their games are blacked out. I might take them anyway - I haven't checked yet to see if I have to make all my picks at once.

I know I want Bucks and Hornets for sure. I may also take the big three in the east and then round it out with Nash and D Williams.

Someone said the preview ends Nov 4. If so, your answer would be no.

I forgot about the Knicks game coming up already. Frustrating that buying league pass isn't nearly enough to watch every game (because of the blackout in my area). Only $90 for the 7-team package, which I feel is very reasonable. When the Bucks travel out here I like to watch them live, so that's no problem either. But if I want to watch the home games against NY and NJ, I have to subscribe to cable, which over the course of a seven month season, costs over $400. It would seem that $500 is the absolute minimum to watch every single game.

I guess they view the online subscription as something that is meant to enhance an existing tv package, but that seems like antiquated logic to me. That would be like Apple making an iPhone that only makes long distance calls and can't be used to dial local numbers. Since Steve Jobs is brilliant, Apple would never do that. Obviously the decision makers at the NBA aren't operating on that level where every single decision is put under the microscope. Too bad.

I still have free preview on Time Warner Cable in Milwaukee.

I'm watching the Celtics 76ers, but there's a full slate of games going on.

Bucks vs Bulls is listed on Ch 769 at 7pm.
