Interesting Kevin Martin Stat

Is it just me or is Martin being more aggressive offensively this year? I think he knows that this is his team and that the team needs him to be aggressive. Before this year, his CAREER HIGH in field goal attempts was 24. He took 27 against the Grizzlies and 29 against the Hornets. I really hope he evolves into a volume shooter because he's the only guy who could consistently put up points on this team. I don't care if he becomes less efficient.

Bah, I don't want him to become a volume shooter at all. That's not how he is most effective. And the 29FGA against the Hornets is largely because he didn't get to the line at all in that game. I just hope that Tyreke can come back strong and Spencer can keep playing the way he has in the last couple of games. Kevin is best as a weapon without the ball in his hands.

I agree that it's not how he's most effective, but on this team there really aren't any other scoring options.

I agree that martin looks more aggressive. When he went one on one with mayo a couple times and had those pull up jumpers instead of going for the head fake and trying to draw a foul every time was good to see. He needs to take around 25 shots a game IMO. He is the only consistent scoring threat we have. Tyreke spencer and JT will have their 20 point games here and there but kevin needs to consistently carry most of the offensive load for us to win games.

Not at the moment, but there are plenty of guys with that kind of potential. Spencer can score in the post, and when running the offense, from mid-range. Jason can score is a variety of ways. Most prominently though, the team should be looking to Tyreke in the near future to create offense for himself and others.

Kevin should definitely be the main option, but I don't want him taking so many shots that it really effects his efficiency. With the development of some of our younger guys, and the new additions, I think this team has more weapons than it did last year, and more coherent system.

I don't want to see Martin as a volume shooter. But it would be an interesting evolutionary development if he happens to shoot at a respectable clip while taking a lot of shots. I think Martin can do it but I just don't want to see his efficiency drop anymore. He kinda dropped from "HOF efficient" to "Super efficient" to "one of the best efficient guards in the league" efficient in these past years. (Martin is still pretty damn efficient though haha) I don't want to see him dropping down from the .600% TS% range, that's pretty much the gold standard of awesome efficiency, especially from a 2 guard.

Yeah, I'm being selfish and attentive right now. Image
