Question regarding Prince/Max.

Postby zeebneeb on Wed Nov 04, 2009 9:51 am

Everyone knows by now that Prince didnt play last night for "back strain" and Max just didnt play.

That will lead to some speculation, ecsp. when Prince hasnt missed a game since 2003. Thats fine.

My question is this;

Does anyone remember what Joes response to trade rumours were before other big trades he's handled? I cant remember if he came out and denied them like he did today, or if he stated no comment on trade rumours. What did he say before the RIP trade? before any of his trades.

I just want to try and get an idea if Prince was actually injured, and if Max just wasnt capable of doing anything last night. Just all seems wierd to me is all.

Prince is an iron man, and to be held out for back strain is beyond wierd to me.

Were either Prince or Max even at the game last night? I don't remember seeing either of them. Was Maxiell dressed to play or in street clothes?

"We're ready to go to war these these guys"- Joe Dumars right before trading Chauncey/Dice for AI.

Maxiell I don't think is a conspiracy, he's played like doodoo since getting his contract extention. But Tay missing a game with a sore back? He's played through much worse, especially with another player already out.

I dunno if a trade is on the horizon, but Joe's comments don't stop those rumors one bit.

Maxiell was there and dressed to play. He just didn't.

I didn't see Prince there, he might have been though, but I have read that Prince is not making the trip to Toronto.

Whats really got me puzzled is that I havnt seen the last couple of games, was away from town. I dont know any of the scuttlebutt going around the team, then I ventured in here this morning, and read that Prince didnt play(!) and Max sat out. So I am confused as hell right now.

I also read about a trade involving Baron and Kamen(Screw Baron, just get Kamen) so I am really out of the loop here.

Interesting.....a sore back should not keep you from traveling with the team....

Usually a player would simply put on a suit and watch from the row behind the bench....

Ah yes, I remember that now.

Okay, thanks Liq. That puts Joe's denial into perspective then.

Sounds like something is brewing. Still, not playing Max at all, is still kinda strange to me.

Maybe he had a deal in place and the other team backed out, so now he's trying to put out the fire.

Thats actually not bad reasoning. Tay not traveling with the team to Toronto is bizzare though.

Maybe he had a death in the family and is keeping it quite?

per the wiretap

http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wireta ... de_rumors/

Pistons forward Tayshaun Prince was a late scratch on Tuesday night, prompting trade rumors.

The team cited a lower back strain and Jason Maxiell was held out of the game against the Magic as well.

However, Pistons president Joe Dumars shot down speculation and insisted that there are no trades on the horizon.

how appropriate

Maxiell is BYC, first year of his extension, almost impossible to trade...

Inside source told me this is happening.

Tayshaun prince - $10,324,380
Jason Maxiell - $5,000,000

for

LeBron James - $15,779,912

It all makes sense! Dumars knows we need a superstar to take us to the next level and he hires Kuester over other head coaches with experience and better fitted for the team. LeBron James is a King and we play in a Palace. Dumars says we need an upgrade and what better upgrade from a Prince to a King? IT ADDS UP!!

By the way, my inside source is Joe Dumars and when I dream every night, he tells me that there will be a king of the Palace.

we might need to throw in a future 2nd rounder, but I personally think it would be worth it....

We don't need to trade Prince, he isn't that old, he expires next season, and he's our only experienced SF. I don't mind shipping him, but only in a really good deal. For Prince and Maxx, I want a proper big man and a decent SF in return. If we can't do it, let's keep the guy.

I would trade Prince/Max for an expiring deal and draft picks.

Bynum/Stuckey/RIP/Gordon are all good enough to play the 1-2-3 minutes with a few backup SF minutes going to one of the rookies.

I wouldn't give Prince away, but if he could be used to clear off Max's contract and get some draft picks and have max capspace next summer we'd be stupid not to take that deal.
