How long before Pritchard gets Fired?

The guy did a great job as an assistant GM working under Steve Patterson, helping land Aldridge and Roy in the 2006 draft but since his promotion to the top guy, the team has done little to improve itself.

Pritchard botched the 2007 NBA draft by not selecting Kevin Durant, he botched the Darius Miles situation, he botched the free agent signings of 2009, and he has extended players to non-cap friendly deals. He couldn't even secure the coach to a long-term deal. Just poor management decision all around. If the team performs poorly this season, it is time for Pritchard to go.

Thoughts on how long before there is a new leader in the Blazers' front office?

I think there are definitely major questionmarks that are starting to surface about Pritchards ability to improve the team beyond the draft. He has made quite a few mistakes in the past couple of years, and if it continues, then we might start talking about this down the road. But so far, he has done enough for this franchise to keep him as the GM for at least a couple more years

The thing we all have to realize is considering how much longer pa has stuck with guys like John Nash and trader bob, kp is most likely here until we lose 61 games.

Would love to hear your thoughts. Pritchard is without a doubt one of the most overrated GMs in the NBA and for someone whose reputation has been unmerited, I'd like to know why you think his job is not in jeopardy?

But he's going on 3 years and hasn't done anything to help take the team over the top. Almost all of the team's improvement has been internal, due to coaching and the natural maturation of players. This past FA signing period should've been a sign of things to come. Not only did he fail to secure his top targets but he signed a guy to play for the team that is a horrible fit.

When I drill down into each of the complaints you have here, I don't find much merit in them.

Oden versus Durant -- Lacking 20/20 hindsight selecting Oden was the right call.

Darius Miles waiving -- Reportedly most of the botching of this situation came from the Vulcans on the business side of the Blazer front office, not from KP. He sounded very uncomfortable defending sending the silly threatening letter.

Extensions -- It would blow my mind if any GM said "you know, I don't think offering Roy or Aldridge an extension is a good idea".

Coach extension -- I think a lot of Blazer fans are happy that Nate isn't locked up long term at this particular point in time.

2009 free agency -- What free agent should KP have attempted to sign that he did not? Am I missing an option that Blazer fans wanted and KP didn't try for?

Wow. How quickly we jump the gun on this one. The franchise was in ruins not too long ago. While I agree this roster needs adjustments, I am not ready to scrap KP.

If things do not work out this year and we struggle again next year under an KP approved coach, maybe we start talking.
