Stuckey is a Dirty Player

Postby huge4 on Wed Nov 04, 2009 6:14 pm

Apologies if this has been addressed in another thread, but I cant' get over how blatantly dirty Stuckey's move on Dwight was last night.

I've got Leaguepass BB and have watched it very closely. It is unmistakable that Stuckey grabs Dwight's injured arm and yanks it down. Dwight doesn't have the ball, Stuckey isn't trying to guard him or box out, he's just trying to injure him.

I know the NBA is a man's game and hard fouls and physical play are part of it, but intentionally going after a know injury is cowardly and cheap. When the player doesn't even have the ball and there is no context for the move, it is just blatant. I was watching the video recap and the commentator says "Dwight and Stuckey have a collision". I don't know if they just haven't watched it or if they're trying not to stir things up.

It's not even about being a Magic fan, when you watch the video there is no disputing that Stuckey just grabbed Dwight's injured arm and yanks it down with nothing to do with the play, then tries to quickly walk away to avoid detection. This would be like someone walking up to Amare Stoudemire away from the basketball and poking him in the eye, or going up to G-Hill and kicking his ankle while he's walking to the bench. Everyone knows Dwight injured that shoulder the previous game. I've had a shoulder injury before and the most painful thing you can do is yank down on that arm just like Stuckey did.

This is cut and dried trying to injure another player. As apparent as it is in the video replay, I don't know why the league wouldn't suspend for this kind of action.

I'm sure the team will send tape to the league. In fact, I'm sure they already have.

Luckily Stuckey doesn't play for the Celtics. We should get some results out this.
What else is new? Rondo looks terrible against any good team we play. He is absolutely useless on offense. Williams was 15 feet away on defense...

Luckily Stuckey doesn't play for the Celtics, but unfortunately, DH plays for the Magic. You see where I'm going with this? :(

I'm skeptical the league will do a thing. Unless there is an outcry from the media, they usually try to let stuff like this go away. If they didn't fine Rondo after his debacle with Chicago in the playoffs, what chance does this have?

What? If you want to say he was purposely holding Dwight before the pass, to prevent him getting position and an easy dunk, then fair enough, but to suggest Stuckey deliberately targeted a point of injury in order to hurt an opponent is a step too far. It isn't like he has previous for this sort of thing.

It sure looked like he targeted that arm in the replays...

Or maybe pulling him by the arm is easier for a 6'3" guy to do than to actually try and wrap him up. I just don't feel that because he happened to foul him on the arm, it means he purposely targeted him.

So mitch you seem surprised that someone would actually do this. Well guess what it really did happen and no the ball wasn't even near either of them. And I also saw the same thing. He did it on purpose.

I remember when it happened and how almost everyone to a T saw the same thing.

I am not quite sure Dwights shoulder is a known injury. He tweaked it against the Raptors, but didn't miss any time. Who knows if Stuckey or anybody even knew about it.

Stuckey isn't dirty. He does suck though. All he does is run into people and try to get a call. He is garbage.
