Deng

Postby Chi town on Wed Nov 04, 2009 11:06 pm

Let me start by saying I am a Bulls fan first but I follow POR 2nd and have a mancrush on Roy and wanted the Bulls to draft him and ship out Gordon.

Its been said that Pritch has coveted Deng in the past. Deng has had his injuries but is now playing really well and is finally healthy.

I know things are rough right now but I know Roy will get you guys going again soon. I hated the Miller signing and hope Pritch can ship him out for expirings because I think he is hurting your chemistry.

I also know you love your Rudy as do Bulls fans.

What do you think of Deng for Rudy and Outlaw (+expiring filler)

IMO you win this trade hands down but the Bulls want cap room, and 3pt shooting and Rudy and Outlaw would become our best 3pt shooters from day one.

I'd do that trade and that's saying a lot since I loooove Rudy. That said, this trade doesn't work. I'd add Blake to make the salaries work and to get the guy out of the rotation.

Portland won't move Rudy to get Deng. Deng's contract is WAY too big. I personally consider him to be overpaid.

I agree he's overpaid.... right now. However, I believe he will put up 18 and 9 this season and with his excellent D and ability to score off the ball I think by mid season he will be earning his checks. I think Deng would be great next to Roy.

I consider him to be way overpaid

Agree 100%. Rudy is going to get a pay day here pretty soon and I'm starting to wonder why he'd re-sign with Portland.

Rudy has at least two more seasons under a rookie contract and even then would be a rfa. Say he gets $10million per ( which would mean he has really performed well) at that time and he would still be getting paid LESS than Deng

Get back to me when he's actually doing that and we can discuss Rudy.

I don't understand why the money is an issue. You are already capped out with Miller, Roy, and Aldridge. Your owner is willing to pay the tax.

I firmly believe that Deng would have more of an impact than Rudy and Outlaw.

Deng has also been playing backup PF for the Bulls and has been playing really well. I know you tried to sign Millsap as your backup and thought about David Lee as well. Deng would be perfect backing up Aldridge.

I like it, with a few tweaks. I would rather send out Webster instead of Outlaw. Webster cant play PF, and if we keep Webster to play behind Deng, we are relying on Howard to play PF, and are burying Batum when he comes back. Webster makes more sense. The problem is that we would also have to include Blake into the deal to make it work financially. I dont think KP will make a move of Rudy, Blake, and Webster for Deng

Bulls won't take Webster's contract. It is worse than Deng's.

We would throw in Taj Gibson.

Deng and Taj for Rudy, Outlaw, and Blake

Miller/Bayless
Roy/Webster
Deng/Batum
Aldridge/Taj
Oden/Pryz

Well as of now he is averaging 18 and 10 on 48%. Its still early in the season, but he is looking pretty good right now. I watched their game against San Antonio, and he was pretty impressive

Paul Allen isn't nearly as free wheeling with his money as he used to be.

That's nice.

Trading for Deng to be our backup PF. You're going in the wrong direction if you're trying to convince us that trading for Deng is a good idea. Having 2 PF's both making 11+ mil a season? Not even the richest owner in sports would sign off on that idea.

I'm gonna need more than a 4 or 5 game sample.

Not bad. But why would you want to give up Deng?

What would you think of Deng and Hinrich for Rudy, Outlaw, Miller/Blake, and a 1st?
