Courtney Lee............

Postby halfHAVOC on Thu Nov 05, 2009 1:53 pm

who here on these boards ACTUALLY thinks he is good?

i have not been impressed ONE BIT by him, dude's jumpshot is long gone so far this season, has not impressed offensively or defensively

i thought he was supposed to be the "3rd string scorer" behind harris and lopez...but CDR snatched that role

both wings T-Will and CDR have completely outplayed him, dude just looks overhyped as hell from last season.... i was there too i thought he was pretty good, but not anymore.

I think he'll be okay, once he realizes that he's not a scorer and Devin comes back. I wouldn't mind trading him, however, as part of a bigger trade.

He's just going through a slump, if you notice he does the right things on offense, his shots just aren't falling. His defense is on point though, which is overlooked. I also blame Frank, he's an idiot. He's also a low volume scorer, I don't see him getting 18+ a night.

The darkest hour is just before the dawn.
Dawn - Mikhail Prokhorov, Brooklyn, 2010 Salary Cap Space, 2 first round picks, one high lottery pick, good young core.
Countdown to dawn - 69 games.

I think he's just going through a slump, but the fact is, he just isn't that good and never will be.
I got in this argument with at least half the NetsDaily board, when I kept arguing that CDR would be the better player then Lee and that Lee was more a product of good circumstance last season.
I was mainly flamed to death and when I asked them why Lee was a better player i would always get the, "well he just is", type of argument.

Way to copy my first sentence.

No but in all seriousness, I think Lee should be our 6th man, our very own Jason Terry *pipe dream*.

They're not all that bad over there, it's just the ones who are bad, are as stubborn as G Dubbya and are super-homer elites.

Wait until the team is healthy and Lee doesn't have to try and be the #1/#2 option on offense.

Regardless, Lee will never be a star player, if that's what you're expecting from him you're setting yourself up for major disappointment...

If you're building a championship / strong playoff contender I think Lee is the type of 2/3 that you want starting... He's a baby step in the right direction.

Agreed.

Agreed to an extent, I still see him as a possible bench guy. His defense is overrated, he's just to small and short.

I'm not gonna criticize Lee right now, the whole team is a mess and playing below their standards, but I will say that he isn't the ''shooter" every claimed he was. I'd even consider moving CDR to the 2, start T-Will at the 3 and make lee come off the bench..

Lee might have been overrated a little because he could play within himself with the Magic and knew his rolel: Play defense and hustle while hitting open shots that Dwight got him..however, I think he could of been used way more offensively and thought he'd shine with NJ that way.. still its early in the season and he'll turn it around.

He's really an excellent defender but for a rebuilding team it will be hard to single out.. only problem is he's a little small.

If you look at Lee's form it's obvious he's more of a set shooter... It'll probably take him an offseason's worth of work to adjust his form and become better off the dribble...

CDR is out tomorrow so:

Lopez
Najera
T-Will
Lee
Alston

Boone
Simmons
S-Will
Hassell

Do we even break 70 points tomorrow night?

If we could make a team with the injured players they would probably beat our starters.
