What the 76ers should really do!

There is a trio of players causing the downfall of this team.

Dalembert, Brand, Young.

The only reason why I put Young into this is because he is way to similar to Iggy. He has the easiest contract to trade and the most appeal to every other team in the league. The only way I think we can trade Brand or Dalembert is to include Young in a package.

We need to get a solid SG in return and move Iggy to his natural position of SF and then get a decent Center. I take Jason Smith over Dalembert any day. Brand isn't aging and his game isn't failing. It's this team and system he doesn't fit. It's apparent, to build around Brand you need 3PT shooters and people who can actually hit a jump shot.

nooooooo. The only player on that list that i would agree are hurting the team is brand. (surprised there was no mention of the two most obvious choices green and ivey) Thad needs to improve on his D as we all know, but how many perimiter players come into the league as great defenders initially ? Most get better on defense as they age and become more experienced. Dalembert is just fine, he has foul issues sometimes, but when hes on the court you know you have a guy thats going to protect the rim, rebound, and sometimes make a 18 foot jumpshot. <---- which he's been stroking pretty consistently as of late.

Also by bringing in a dominant shooting gaurd it takes away from dre's effectiveness. He's alot more effective when he has the ball in his hands and is trying to create for others. When he gets other people involved first, he usually has great games. Bringing in a shooting gaurd who also commands the rock could disrupt the balance we have offensively, and make things worst.

What "balance" do we have on offense? lol. they cant get much worse.

and I totally disagree, a SG that commands the rock HELPS iguodala not hurts. It allows Iguodala to create for others at his natural position at the 3,especially for (this SG that commands the ball) , and then he scores more easily when this guy takes the defense's attention away from Iguodala and the paint.

Iguodala is best used as a playmaker, and facilitator...not forcing up contested step back jumpers and fadeaways...so bringing in someone who can carry the load on offense and hit a shot helps Iggy imo.

Sammy isnt as big a problem imo as Brand. Sam gives us a legit efensive 5 downlow, and his contracts up next season, so his exp could be a solid trade chip next year.

and unless they plan on using Thad as a 4 where hes able to be most effective using his knack around the hoop and speed as a mismatch,,,i agree we should try and move him for something of worth (young player that fits, picks, etc.) as long as we intend on keeping Iguodala.

I don't care who you bring in as long as it has "shooting" in the description. They need shooters.
They have gotten caught up in getting great athletes lately but they forgot that you need to be able to put the ball in the basket. In fact, if I were the GM ... after seeing this miserable situation develop over the last few years, I would never draft anyone anymore unless they were known for being prolific scorers. I think you can work hard to become a reasonable defender but if they can't shoot by the time they get to the NBA it is doubtful they ever will. Get shooters.
