KC's Latest: Tyrus Support?

1. KC believes Tyrus should play 30mpg every game no matter what and should play through mistakes.

2. Noah gets it

3. Tyrus shouldn't be playing SF

4. Del Nego is trying to find spot minutes for James Johnson

IMO Del Negro is playing Miller too much because our offense is so bad and Brad opens it up and helps us get easy buckets. That's why Noah isn't playing as much as he should.

Del Negro's excuse for not playing Johnson is because the SF and PF are the two "fullest" positions on the team. I beg to differ. Play Taj the minutes he should be playing and Johnson can have time behind Deng.

preface all this by noting that KC wrote this before the fabulous road victory over the Cavs. This might have been written slightly differently coming on the heels of a huge road win.

KC Johnson wrote:As for Tyrus, my feeling is unless he's completely killing you at both ends, he has to play at least 30 minutes every night this season. Has to. You have to let this guy play through mistakes and see what you have. Even if it's just to showcase him until the February trading deadline.

this was not a comment that Tyrus needs to play on merit. This has to do with the concerns of the franchise long term. I submit to you Vinny has concerns of earning a new contract through winning ballgames this current season. I am 100% positive Vinny makes decisions based on that prism. Right or wrong.

I thought Tyrus had a great offseason and was having a good preseason and I think Vinny's decision to not start Tyrus when he returned from his hip injury started the ball rolling downhill badly.

this is as close as you can get to "Tyrus support". And he blames the coach for Tyrus' issues. Incendiary. And probably wrongheaded on KCs part. Tyrus is responsible for himself, and he has to respond like champion and competitor. If a player hasn't responded as such under a challenge, or does not, hes probably a loser. Nothing brings out your true nature like stress.

as to Tyrus's offseason? Great, fabulous. But a lineup is made on more issues than 1 players offseason. On every roster there is competition. I imagine some other players had as good or better offseasons. And in every minutes distribution, there are matchups and who is played reflects that and whomever is playing the coach's system according to plan. And in who is outplaying who in practice. Apparently Vinny has other concerns that extend beyond Tyrus's offseason roadwork. Again, right or wrong on Vinny's calls. Point being, its not all about Tyrus, KC.

#1, Taj is playing well. Hes earning his minutes. IMO

Next, the last thing Vinny should be doing is inserting Johnson into the rotation artificially just because. Beyond the fact that the James Johnson I saw in the preseason simply was not ready to play, the NBA is all about earning minutes. And Vinny especially will not make those kinds of moves carelessly this year when he has to earn a new contract based on his team's performance.

Coincidentally, winning ballgames is Vinny's job.

Tyrus will not be resigned by the Bulls and won't be traded. He will be let go just like Ben Gordon. The Bulls found a replacements with both Gibson and Johnson.

I read KC's mailbag too. His Bulls-henchman, Tyrus-Thomas-hatred agenda really is beyond sickening. Just another typical hack-job from Reinsdorf's back-pocket media monkey.

Right guys?
