Limiting minutes as players age in general is a good idea. But these guys are human beans, not machines, so it's pretty case sensitive when it comes to who needs what type of rest. MPG doesn't matter as much to me as making sure that each player is getting the rest when they need it, however much that may. Doc, the staff and the players should always be communicating as to just what that entails, although it might not always show in the minutes guys are getting.
With this type of bench, there shouldn't be a need to put too much wear on any of the starters during the season. And if it comes down to it, I'd rather have a 2 or 3 seed and fresh legs than a 1 seed with half the team draggin ass.
