I really like his strengths and attitude, so hope the guy does well!! Defense could be strong with Hibbert, Granger, Jones, and Watson. Even Ford and Rush have nice defensive potential.

to me roy reminds me of the Dream. I know he's not as good but he has excellent foot work like Hakeem

Roy's biggest asset is his intelligence/maturity. He looks as good as Oden, Bynum and quite a few other more highly drafted centers. It is too early to tell, but Roy could be one of the better young centers if he continues to grow in terms of his physical tools. His mentality and skills were enriched @ Center U..... aka Georgetown, so the need to teach him is far less than most other young bigs.

His progress is a pleasent surprise to me.

I think Roy definitely has the potential to be better than Bynum and IS better offensively. But I feel like he would need to add more muscle in order to as effective on the glass as Bynum can be. Not sure that I would want Roy adding much more weight though. Might end up making him even slower than he already is.

I go to georgetown - so I already the know the fustration that can come along with rooting for Hibbert. He is so fun to root for - because he is actually a really nice guy, plays hard, and can have amazing offensive stretches. however, then there will be games when he fouls against a 6'8 player while only grabbing 4 rebounds. This is turning out to be a great pick for us at # 17

I agree his greatest assests are his intellegence and work ethic. He is not as much of an athlete that Oden and Bynum. But, I think he is a smarter, more driven guy than Bynum and his foundation of offensive skills is ahead of Oden. Right now the guy he reminds me of most is Kendrick Perkins.

I don't think there is any resemblence to Hakeem. He was a 7 footer who beat people with his quickness. Roy has a nice set of skills but I don't think we will ever call him quick.

Saw some comments on Thabeet the other day that talked about him needing to like the game more. If I'm Memphis that would worry me. This NBA history if full of underachieving bigs guys who just didn't hava a passion for the game. Roy looks like he really enjoys playing.

If he improves from year 2 to year 3 the way he has from year 1 to year 2 he's an all-star.
