Not many big expirings out there. TI for Redd

Postby Lippo on Fri Nov 06, 2009 5:19 pm

Michael Redd
Joe Alexander
Kurt Thomas
2010 1st (top 15 protected)

for

Joey Dorsey
Tracy McGrady

Clear our books a year early, and if we can make the palyoffs, McGrady could be healthy by then and really help us advance. Dorsey is the bangar we need inside, and much younger than Thomas.
I could totally see McGrady getting a resurrection here and blending wonderfully w/ Jennings,Luc,Warrick and Bogut(<who shoould be the next one moved)

then move Bogut and Ukic and a 2nd to LA for Jordan and Camby

Jennings/Ridnour/Bell
McGrady/Meeks/Luc
Warrick/Delfino/Luc
Camby/Dorsey/Luc/Illyasova
Jordan/Camby/Gadz/Elson

I'm struggling to see why Houston would do this.

I agree. I'm not sure Redd fits the Houston model of two-way players. Plus Houston has the ability this summer to possibly sign a max free agent if they can recruit one. I can't see them giving up that type of roster flexibility for a guy (Redd) who arguably has as sketchy a health history as Yao and T-Mac.

Yeah we are not going to put one over Morey, we need to be talking to teams like the Clippers and Memphis.

These trades would only work in like a videogame.

A.) kills Houston's flexibility this summer (they could use that money on like Bosh to get a huge front court)
B.) Why woud the Clippers want Bogut's contract to play backup center? Kaman is puting up like 22pts and 11rebs on similar contract. That also kills their chances of adding a premium player to go with Gordon and Griffin.

Not happening any time soon. I still think Dampier's or Big Z's contract is the best bet if any to shed Redd.
In regards to Walter Sharpe

damn, if he had stopped to do some coke in the middle of the run he'd be skiles' hero

The only team I can see giving up expirings for Redd would be to the Wizards for Miller/James. Other then that I think you just have to hop for being able to get a medium sized expiring along with a contract that is as long as Redds. Maybe to LAL for Morrison/Fisher/Vujacic?
