I don't know if it really was during a timeout or if they said it during a game sequence but since no one mentioned it I thought maybe you guys didn't catch it: Jackson was saying that he talked to Walsh prior to the game about 2010 and what Walsh was thinking about possibly adding one max free agent. Jackson said " Walsh told me that he isn't looking at one max FA but is definitely gonna want to add two max FA. " Again it really sounded like Walsh is very confident he can achieve that, not like someone waiting for a miracle. I'd really like to know what the leeway is/was that Walsh talke about during the summer.
Other than that JVG was talking about some random stuff during timeouts(hair cut of one guy etc.) while Jackson seemed to be pretty shocked by the Knicks first half performance and wondered why they'd come out this bad.

Knicksick wrote:Yeah but isn't the bottom line that we'd need to drop Jeffries AND Curry in order to ba able to really sign TWO max FAs. Or do you mean that a guy like Amar'e or Bosh would settle for 15mill. a year?

If James said he is leaving the Cavs regardless, it is in the best interest of the Cavs to get something back instead of letting him walk for nothing. We can offer a trade exemption and Chandler which is better than nothing. This actually would be helpful too because it clears another $3 million off the cap and the logjam.
Then if Bosh says the same, although we wouldn't be able to sign him outright, no organization is stupid enough to hold players hostages so they can work something out with us as well. Lee and Jeffries and $3 million for Bosh would work.
Then we can go shopping Eddy's expiring for a longer term deal for a player or more that have long term deals, similar to the Jefferson trade. We wouldn't get all stars back but who needs more all stars if you can get LBJ and Bosh.
So, there are many ways to get this done if the players decide to come here, their current teams are not going to ruin relations by standing in their way.

You cant give teams our spare parts and expect them to bend over backwards. Toronto would want Gallo and Cleveland would want Hill and Chandler.

My dad has a phrase he likes which translates to "wanting isn't bad for you" point is they can want whatever, they could want gallo, hill, chandler and 2 picks for bosh or lebron, but if we have the cap room to sign them outright and the players want to come here then it doesn't matter what cleveland wants.

So they will let him walk. They aren't going to help us out and that was the point.

If we get another free agent like Amare and Bosh, then we would be legit contenders.
Of course it would depend on the players around them.
In a way not having our first rounder this year is a plus because we dont have to take all that money off the cap.(its allso a curse so dont flame me):D
If I was Walsh I would look into buying 3- 4 sencond rounders to get some cheap non-guarenteed help over here.
