To GarPax, Please Get us a Scoring Big Man. PLEASE.

Post#1 » by cool007 » Thu Feb 4, 2010 3:17 pm

I am sorry but how long has it been since we have been trying to get a big man to Chicago??? We have failed over and over again. When I see ton and ton of teams that have some sort of scoring big man while we keep bringing in defensive big man after defensive big man, it would work if we had a Michael Jordan on this team - but we don't.

Even in the bad Eastern Conference, you will see a LOT of talented scoring big man in almost all of the East teams. Let's look:

Cavs - Shaq/Z (previous years)
Orlando - Dwight
Boston - KG
Atlanta - Horford
Toronto - Bosh/Bargs
Miami - Beasley/O'Neal
Milwaukee - Bogut
NY - David Lee
Indiana - Murphy
Philly - Brand
Washington - Jamison
NJ Nets - Brook Lopez

That's 12 out of 15 teams who have better scoring big man than we do. The other 3 are (Chicago, Detroit, and Charlotte). Charlotte, even though they don't have a scoring big man, they still have two LEGIT 20ppg scorer while we don't.

This is why I really hope Gar Pax's MAJOR priority this trade deadline or atleast in Summer should be to get us that talented scoring big man tot go with Rose. Now that Rose has become that 23ppg scorer - we really don't need another 20ppg backcourt scoring mate but we definitely need another 20ppg scoring big man.

When the season started, I didn't think Rose would be any more than 19-20ppg scorer but now that has became a 23ppg for the majority of the season, the priority has changed. We don't really need D-Wade more than we need a big man that can score.

I am freaking tired of us going after defensive big man every year (it seems like). I personally don't feel like Wade has more than 2 or 3 great years left. I think we will see a good decline in him in 2-3 years - that would hurt us coz he can't post-up, he is not a good off the ball player, he is also not a spot up shooter.

Please get us that big man Gar-Pax, we have been on the dry end for like......seems like forever.

Hello, Carlos. Welcome to Chicago. A thirty game trial to see if the Bulls want to make a longer commitment to Boozer. In this case, a trial run could take the Bulls to the East Conference finals or beyond. Chances of that happening with the current roster? Nada.

Yeah, same tune.

Is that really their priority though??? I thought Wade was if not then Johnson was their backup plan.

I think we might be over taxing Rose at this scoring rate. He just talked about how incredibly tired he was heading up to the All-Star break. I don't like hearing that.

Just because he *can* score 23 a game on a poor offensive team taking a ton of shots, I'm not sure we want him to ideally. If he was on a team where he could just scale back a little bit, maybe 19-20, he might be a lot more efficient, and even get his FG% up over 50%.

He used to be that careful about taking good shots. Now he can't quite be as picky and I think it makes him get careless, sloppy and even frustrated at times when the team is desperate to score and he can't deliver constantly.

This is why you give him a big man, and his life gets so much easier and if there is a big man to worry about for opposing teams than Rose doesn't see as many double teams and would be easier for him to score.

The reason I said he can still score 23 is coz instead of scoring on 19 shots, he can probably get to 23 in 16 or so shots instead.

Yes, we do need a scoring big man. I thought that was taken for granted. I think Bulls management would be aware of this idea. One of LeBron, Bosh, or Lee will be here next year.

Or maybe if he just got to the line more often....

One big man can help Rose, help the team. But I don't think it gets us where we need to be offensively. I would like to see us bring in two more good offensive players. They don't both need to be superstars (though that would be great). One could be more of a specialist.

Like Ray Allen for instance. :)

I was thinking the same exact thing.

Also, if we trade Hinrich and if Salmons opts out, we should have money to not only resign Allen but should have enough money to sign another piece (Morrow???). Also, don't forget we still have Deng to give us another 15ppg if not more (as a 3a or 3b option along with Allen).

If u look at most of the contenders..they have this in common as far as roster setup

A dynamic/playmaking slasher
An inside presence
good Outside shooters

Celts - Pierce/KG/Ray
Lakers - Fisher/Kobe/Pau
Nuggets- Melo/Nene/Billups
Orlando - Hedo/Dwight/everyone else--lol
Cleveland - Lebron( he counts for 2..lol), Mo

As of now, we are missing 2 of those ingredients and we need to fill em up quick if we really want to turn this thing around.

If we did the Allen trade, and resigned him next year then we should have.

Bulls - Rose/Amare or Bosh or Boozer/Allen + we also have Deng.

Chris is probably not leaving TO since they are really winning and could challenge for that 4th spot and a 1st rd upset. So let's hope for Amare

They're prob content with Taj now... Which may work if we have Lebron to round things out, lol.

At worse, I would rather get David Lee instead if we get LeBron. Trading Hinrich could get that done.

I had a dream last night where some broadcast announcer was declaring the Bulls as having the most dangerous team in the NBA flashing the roster for a fleating instant. On there I could distinctly read the name Morrow. He isn't even in my concious thoughts for 2010, so having his name pop up in my dream was rather peculiar. I wouldn't mind having a young SG like him to grow alongside Rose.

We just need two guys who can score consistently and a Big man who can make a normal pro basketball move with looking coordinated and does not put themselves he strange positions (that makes the shot even more difficult) that can score a decent rate

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.
