09:00 PM: RUMOR: Reports are surfacing that Portland will send Brandon Rush, Jarrett Jack and Josh McRoberts to Indiana for Jerryd Bayless and Ike Diogu.

07:56 PM: RUMOR: Andy Katz is reporting that the Clippers were only interested in trading up to the fourth slot only if O.J. Mayo would have been available.

07:26 PM: RUMOR: According to ESPN, the Knicks now believe that the player they covet will be available when they select at 6, so they are no longer looking to trade.

07:11 PM: RUMOR: It is rumored that Pat Riley wanted Rudy Gay, Michael Conley Jr and pick 5 in exchange for pick 2, but that is unlikely to happen. Chances are that the Heat remain at 2 and will take Beasley.

06:04 PM: RUMOR: ESPN is now reporting that trade talks between the Sonics and Clippers have been shelved.

05:23 PM: RUMOR: Jermaine O'Neal has confirmed the trade that will send him to Toronto, but it will continue to remain unofficial.

04:28 PM: RUMOR: Provided the Wolves take O.J. Mayo at No. 3, the Sonics and Clippers will swap picks and Los Angeles will also send a protected pick in 2009. Eric Gordon is believed to be the Clippers' target.

03:44 PM: RUMOR: The Clippers and Sonics are discussing a swap where the No. 4 and No. 7 picks are swapped and the Los Angeles would send a protected 2009 1st rounder.

03:33 PM: RUMOR: Richard Jefferson is heading to the Bucks for Yi Jianlian and Bobby Simmons in a deal which has been agreed to in principle. It is believed no picks will be exchanged.

03:18 PM: RUMOR: The Blazers are also interested in the Grizzlies' pick, according to ESPN. They have a number of assets, including Travis Outlaw, that they can entice Memphis with. The Blazers are reportedly most interested in Russell Westbrook and Kevin Love.

03:07 PM: RUMOR: Memphis is in talks about a trade that would send the No. 5 pick to New Jersey for the No. 10 pick and a future first-round pick, according to ESPN.

02:38 PM: RUMOR: The Warriors have been active in trade talks leading up to the draft, especially with their $10 million trade exception set to expire Monday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

12:28 PM: RUMOR: Miami is reportedly considering sending the No. 2 pick and Shawn Marion to the Los Angeles Clippers for No. 7 and Elton Brand.

11:03 AM: RUMOR: Miami already has received overtures from the Raptors, Pacers, Clippers and several other teams regarding Shawn Marion, according to a source that spoke with the Sun-Sentinel. He became eligible to be traded on Tuesday and could be in play on draft night.

07:49 AM: RUMOR: Could Beasley be on his way to Memphis? A rumor which is heating up could see Memphis trade pick 5 and Mike Miller to the Heat for the rights to Beasley, if the Bulls don't take him with the first overall pick. Miami apparently is seeking a point guard to team with Dwyane Wade, with O.J. Mayo and Jerryd Bayless their primary targets.

07:44 AM: RUMOR: Portland may have cooled on trying to acquire Leandro Barbosa from the Suns, and may now be trying to trade up to position 10 (New Jersey) in an effort to draft Texas guard T.J. Augustin.

07:40 AM: RUMOR: New York has been trying to move up in an effort to get guard O.J. Mayo onto the Knicks roster. Minnesota (#3) and Memphis (#5) are potential targets, with David Lee apparently on the block.

07:26 AM: RUMOR: It is believed that Toronto will be drafting for Indiana at selection 17. The rights to the player chosen, T.J. Ford, Rasho Nesterovic and another unnamed player will be sent to the Pacers for former All-Star Jermaine O'Neal in July after the moratorium ends, and players are able to be traded and signed.

What a see-saw tonight turned out to be for the Clippers. First, they're standing pat, Then, we're trading up to get Gordon, who they eventually got at #7 anyway. Bravo for not being fooled by Sam Presti. Gordon doesn't come in with a ton of hype, but if he can find his role running the P&R with Elton Brand next season, Gordon might find himself being the second straight Clippers rookie to be an All-Rookie 1st team player.

Tomic seems like a nice prospect, exactly what you'd like from a 2nd rounder.

Join the DiscussionSacramento_King - 11:33 pm

Kings should've taken Hendrix over Ewing Jr.

Join the Discussion510Reggae - 11:32 pm

Hendrix and Randolph... I'm pretty pleased with the draft as it stands right now. I definitely would have liked to add a wing - this all essentially means that Baron's staying, Buke's likely to be resigned, and Beli will see the court - but towards the future, I like these moves.

Join the DiscussionArenas4Three - 11:27 pm

Bill Walker?!?!?! I dunno what to say he has potential but needs to stay healthy. I liked him at K-State but I dunno where he'd fit on this team right now.

Join the DiscussionGrizzledGrizzFan - 11:11 pm

You're going to love CDR. Tough as nails and he's a winner. Not a cliche - the kid's a competitor and a winner. Grats on a grabbing two guys that other GM's missed out on. Their mistakes is your A+ draft.

Join the DiscussionBigSlam - 11:07 pm

I thought we should go with a bruiser like Hardin, but I like this pick a lot. Weaver gives us something we don't have on the roster.

Join the DiscussionNO-KG-AI - 11:01 pm

A little too conservative in the second round in my opinion, the Wolves grab a solid player in Mario Chalmers, but I think with the lack of a center or center prospect, a guy as talented as DeAndre Jordan had to be the pick there, and Minnesota already has a glut of guards.

Join the Discussionevildallas - 11:00 pm

DeAndre Jordan has the potential to be a great value pick, but so did Walker or Douglas-Roberts and they would have filled a greater need.

Join the DiscussionNO-KG-AI - 10:48 pm

Well that was a surprise, haven't heard anyone in Minnesota calling for Nikola Pekovic at 31.

Join the Discussionjazzfan1971 - 10:45 pm

I am not a fan of this pick in the least. I wonder if this is a guy they PLAN on playing overseas for a few years. That's my guess. I think Fes is a better fit at backup 5 for the Jazz than this kid.

Join the DiscussionSpin Move - 10:41 pm

Discuss, I myself am very disapointed, Deandre Jordan, Mario Chalmers, Bill Walker all would have been better picks IMOP Giddens is not nearly as good a prospect on the wings as Walker. However Danny probably knows better then me.

On D.J. White: He's NBA ready and one of the best rebounders in college basketball

Join the DiscussionSpykes - 10:26 pm

Another amazing Draft Day by Kevin Pritchard. It obviously took a little luck for Bayless to drop to 11, but once things started to fall Portland's way, Pritchard took advantage.

Join the DiscussionNO-KG-AI - 10:20 pm

That's a wonderful value pick for us, Arthur is a top 10 or so talent, he's athletic and he bolsters our bench really well. Then we sell the pick to Portland.

Join the DiscussionSpykes - 10:15 pm

I hope Portland is keeping Arthur. If Portland couldn't move the 27 pick, Arthur would definitely fit the BPA approach that KP loves.

Join the DiscussionBlame Rasho - 10:10 pm

With Green,Arthur,Chalmers, and hell Jordan on the board... you got to question what makes Hill so remarkable or better than any of the prospects listed?

Join the DiscussionMaxRider - 10:03 pm

Batum is alright he's young and athletic if he's coming next year he won't get too much playing time imo

Join the Discussionsonictecture - 09:57 pm

I wonder if Ibaka would have been available at #32. Nothing gets me more excited than the advice we should forget Ibaka's name for 3 or 4 years, because that is when he is projected to be a possible player.

Join the Discussiondamo[23] - 09:48 pm

Well a to be expected pick really given Otis's supposed interest shown prior to the draft, but Orlando get one of their needs. With Lee we see the potential for the much needed upgrade at the two position.

Join the DiscussionMalReyn - 09:38 pm

Hickson probably a good pick for the Cavs, he's a better scorer than Arthur. Should be very solid in the 4 slot.

Join the DiscussionBigSlam - 09:31 pm

After a longggggggggggg delay before making the pick (we were off the clock for some time - is ther a trade in the works?) The Bobcats had to expect to go big with the #20 after taking Augustin at #9. Jordan has the upside but had a fall from grace once touted as a top 5 pick. Ajinca has been impressing a lot during workouts and has great size and mobility.

Join the Discussionsonny - 09:20 pm

re: Portland/Indiana trade; This really isn't fair. Pritchard is like that guy that does franchise mode on 2K8, turns trade override on and ends up with this amazing team while all the other players are getting their trades rejected.

Join the DiscussionTASTIC - 09:18 pm

I think it's safe to say this spells the end for Brian Skinner on the Suns. We now have a cheaper, younger scrapper type PF/C who will spell Amare and Shaq.

Join the Discussioncount55 - 09:16 pm

Well, with the #17, the Pacers got their big, and to me, the best thing about Roy Hibbert is that he's not Kosta Koufos.

Join the DiscussionSubaculta - 09:02 pm

On Golden State's Pick; Very happy with this pick... Wright and Randolph would work perfectly together. They're both forwards - neither one is a prototypical SF or PF, but I think as long as the two of them fill out, they can play together with Biedrins beautifully.

Join the Discussioncount55 - 08:56 pm

As the draft approached, some mock drafts had what many Pacer fans felt impossible occurring: Jerryd Bayless dropping into our range. Gunshy Pacer fans counted off each pick that went by, at first with growing excitement, then with growing dread as we feared that Bird would spring a Kosta Koufos surprise on us. But, finally, the Pacer fans got some real joy.

re: Danilo Gallinari; He's already been killing in the Euro leagues, if you want to talk 'project'. Better than Skita and Bargnani, in terms of playing there. You could even say the Euroleagues offer tougher competition than college over here.

Join the DiscussionKingsInExile - 08:50 pm

Thompson? What? I really don't know what to think right off. He's a solid guy who can rebound and we need that. I guess I was looking for someone with more of a "athletic" presence, but Thompson looks like he should have the fundamentals to get the job done.

Join the DiscussionMickeyDavis - 08:32 pm

Picking Joe was a bit of a surprise after this afternoon's trade but this kid is going to be a great NBA player. He brings a toughness and athleticism the Bucks desperately need. Although he's listed as a SF I wouldn't be surprised to see him paired up with Jefferson

Join the DiscussionBigSlam - 08:30 pm

Seems like a Larry Brown pick? We didn't even bring him in for a workout? Brown has thrown his full support behind Felton since arriving in Charlotte, so why bring in DJ?

Join the DiscussionHarpStarkOakEw - 08:28 pm

On the Knicks selection; JVG is right, why select a sub-par PG or combo guard now when we have Marbs for one more season. We might as well hold out for the right PG or a pure PG. that fits. One thing no one can deny about this regime is that they have been incredibly patient.

Join the Discussionboogiesdad - 08:15 pm

at #5 We select Kevin Love. I love this pick. He's the best avaiable player that fits our needs. This gives us a very solid core. He has a severe lack of speed which doesn't fit our running system but, he gives us a solid rebounder with the ability to through the outlet pass and trigger the wings to run. Based on our needs you gotta love this pick.

Join the DiscussionKingsInExile - 08:06 pm

I'm honestly a bit confused by the Westbrook pick. It seems way too high for him. Also, if upgrading the point long term was the goal, it seems like there were better alternatives on the board still. Maybe this will work out...but it is still a bit confusing.

Join the DiscussionNO-KG-AI - 08:04 pm

OJ isn't a natural point, he has the ability to run point a lot, and he will fit really well with Randy Foye, they can share point duties, either guy is big enough to guard 1 or 2, and they can both shoot the deep ball and space the floor for the big man Al Jefferson. Mayo can create his own shot, he can create for others, and one thing you really have to like is his defensive tenacity, he's capable of being a lockdown defender from the guard spot. Paired with Corey Brewer on the perimeter, this could be a tough team to get a perimeter game going. OJ is clearly the most talented player left to me, and he's a wonderful fit, the Wolves have their next pick at the top of round 2, and they are expected to go big for that one.

Join the Discussionslick_watts - 08:03 pm

On Seattle's Pick; I guess this is why they wanted to trade down, they probably settled on westbrook and figured he'd fall. andy katz said they had no way to fall and if westbrook is who they want it's who they want. i think westbrook can play SG in the nba because defense really isn't an issue so that's good.

Beasley, it is! After months and months of trying to see who Riley would take, the day finally comes. If we do keep Beasley, he's going to be a damn good player with us from the get go. -- Given his natural scoring ability, he's going to mesh very well alongside Wade, and make for 1 hell of a 1-2 punch on the P&R along with one another.

Now the draft gets interesting...

Join the Discussiondougthonus (RealGM Bulls Moderator) - 07:38 pm

The Bulls selecting Derrick Rose hardly comes as a surprise for the team. Rose was a winner in college, has great work ethic, and fills a need to get a penetrating offensive creator that the Bulls lack. While many pundits have complained about the Bulls lack of interior scoring for the past several years, John Paxson pointed out on multiple locations that PG play was our biggest weakness this past season.

Join the DiscussionMike Hunt - 06:47 pm

On the Jermaine O'Neal trade; I'm a Raptors fan and regardless of whether or not this deal is a good one for my favourite team (I happen to think it is), I think it's a refreshing thing to see big name players moving in a relatively FAIR trade.

"The online sportsbook Bodog announced that it suspended all wagering on the No. 1 pick because no matter how steep the odds, people wouldn't stop backing Derrick Rose." seriously, if paxson really wants to keep it secret, he should let vdn handle all the press conference. unless he is purposely misleading the press, paxson is just really bad at hiding his intention.
