I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s special edition of the Scoop, if not – then you’ll be happy as we switch back to the traditional format.

Mike D’Antoni has told GM John Paxson that he would like to become the next coach of the Chicago Bulls . Paxson would still like to interview more candidates, but Mike might be the right fit in Chitown.

The Memphis Grizzlies : Auditing The 2007-08 Season, by Christopher Reina.

Kevin Durant will represent the Sonics at the NBA’s Draft Lottery later on this month. Hopefully, Durant can bring Seattle some good luck and perhaps the number one overall pick, as well.

Breaking Down The Second Round, by Jason M. Williams.

Mark Cuban claims that general managers don’t really have much pull when it comes to making decisions on the roster. In reality, it seems to all come down to the owners. I guess James Dolan really is to blame for all New York’s problems.

Picking Apart The Semifinals, by Andrew Perna & Mark Rowan.

The Pacers are looking for someone who will fit their offensive system in this June’s Draft. D.J. Augustin of Texas is the type of fast-paced point guard Indiana could use but who knows if he’ll be available or if he’ll even be worthy of a Lottery selection, when the Draft takes place next month.

ATL Is Back On The Scene, by Patrick J. Austin.

The Yankees appear interested in signing Derek Lowe this winter, as he hits free agency. New York needs an addition to their starting rotation, but December will be too late for the 2008 season.

Kerry Wood’s infamous 20 strikeout game against the Astros happened exactly twenty years ago Tuesday. What a path he has followed in his decade-long career: from promising ace to struggling closer.

Rays Set Marks For April, by Craig Castille.

Rafael Furcal, who I stupidly traded in my fantasy league, has jumped up to fourth in RealGM’s latest player rankings. Needless to say, I’ll never become an MLB executive.

The Astros have admitted that they discussed a spot in the rotation with Roger Clemens following the release of the Mitchell Report last December. I’d assume Houston is happy that the relationship never took the next step.

LaDainian Tomlinson will not play for San Diego in the preseason, despite rumors that he wants to take some reps behind center. The Chargers need to keep L.T. fresh before he starts to exit his prime, which could happen sooner than must would like to believe.

The NCAA Coaching Carousel, by Eric Galko.

Shaun Alexander met with the Bengals on Monday, and will spend some time with the Saints later on this week. New Orleans appears to be worried that Deuce McAllister won’t be ready for the season, and bringing in someone like Alexander could help Reggie Bush grow on the field.

A Connecticut boy took off his Brett Favre jersey at the end of April for the first time in 1,581 days. This is unreal. I truly hope that the boy’s mother washed the jersey at the end of every day, or at least every other. I don’t live too far from Ridgefield, and I think at times I might have been able to smell him. Nonetheless, I admire his dedication.

Phlying Under The Radar, by Andrew Perna.

And we thought Dwight could dunk…
