In the final mock draft before the lottery, this will be the last time players are selected based on best player available status instead of team need.
Taking over for Nick Obergan, Andrew Perna delivers the best draft selections in slots 11 and 12, which includes Dr. J, Reggie Miller, Kevin Willis, Allan Houston and many more.
Born within six months of each other in opposite corners of the world, two seven footers who are finalists for the Basketball Hall of Fame this fall are two of the best ever to play the center position.

Chad Johnson has made his fair share of publicity this offseason, but he has signed on to appear in Degree’s viral ‘Rookie Day’ YouTube series. Surf over here to catch up on the episodes. It’s actually pretty interesting stuff.
Billy Knight has resigned as the general manager and executive vice president of the Hawks, effective July 1. I think it was time for a change in Atlanta with the team on the rise, but I have always been a fan of Knight’s personality.
RealGM has launched it’s famous 2008 NBA Draft Simulator. I clicked through 72 times on Wednesday afternoon, and my Pacers landed the first overall pick once!
No one has offered coach Mike D’Antoni a contract yet, but it seems plausible that the Knicks could change that rather soon. Call me crazy, but I’m not sure D’Antoni has the right personality for New York.
Kobe Bryanthas come a long way this season, now claiming that he wants to remain with the Lakers for the rest of his career. Agent 24 has really impressed me this season and appears to have really matured.
The Pacers have named David Morway their newest general manager. As an Indiana supporter, I’m thrilled by the move. I don’t have all too much confidence in Bird’s ability to run a franchise all by his lonesome, but having Morway by his side should fortify the decision-making progress.
It appears as though the Reds will look to trade Ken Griffey Jr. once he smashes the 600th home run of his career. Smart public relations move by Cincinnati as Griffey is just three longballs away from the milestone.
The Yankees are remaining cautious with the strained quadriceps of Alex Rodriguez. I think that’s a great idea, but I would prefer that he come off the disabled list once he’s eligible on May 14. You see, I’ll be in attendance when the Bombers battle the Mets that weekend.
The Brewers plan to stick with Eric Gagne as their closer despite his recent struggles. That’s fine by me, but I’d advise you to bench or cut him in your fantasy league. Blown saves aren’t exactly something you build your roster around.
Philadelphia police claim that Colts’ wide receiver Marvin Harrison is not a suspect in the shooting that took place near his body shop/car wash last week. That’s a relief for Indianapolis fans but still doesn’t solve the mystery surrounding the incident. The Philly police force has enough to deal with, though, with the death of yet another officer.
Redskins' receiver Antawn Randle El had arthroscopic knee surgery on Monday and is expected to be back on the field in June. I think new Coach Jim Zorn might be able to get the best out of Randle El, but he’ll need to be 100% in order for that to be the case.
Bobby Engram has decided to showcase his unhappiness with his contract situation in Seattle by skipping a voluntary minicamp. I have never thought of this as the most productive way of getting what you want, but more power to you, Bobby.
The Maple Leafs have fired head coach Paul Maurice. Toronto has missed the playoffs for the third time in a row, something that hasn’t happened since the 1920s. The gig is one of the most storied in NHL history, so I’d imagine they’ll be several qualified candidates.
The Rangers have a few offseason decisions to make, with both Jaromir Jagr and Brendan Shanahan possibility moving out of town. Jagr seems to want to remain in New York, but Shanahan could opt to retire as he approaches forty.
