The Flyers will kick off their Eastern Conference Finals' series with the Penguins on Friday night. Let’s Go Flyers, Let’s Go!

The selections for the All-NBA Teams were announced Thursday, with few surprises. I actually don’t disagree with any of the picks, but here’s what my All-NBA Fourth Team would have looked like:

Baron Davis, Golden State
Allen Iverson, Denver
Carmelo Anthony, Denver
David West, New Orleans
Marcus Camby, Denver

Apparently if the Wizards are going to contend in the Eastern Conference next season they are going to have to sign both Antawn Jamison and Gilbert Arenas. Agent Zero claimed in his latest blog that Washington will have to retain Jamison if he’s going to re-sign.

The Nets have promoted Kiki Vandeweghe to the position of general manager, just a day after the Pacers did the same with David Morway. The Nets will have a promising roster, if healthy, next season. That is assuming Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson remain in town to play alongside Devin Harris and a host of young big men.

Sam Cassell doesn’t understand why the NBA is ‘protecting’ LeBron James with favorable foul calls in this year’s playoffs. E.T. went on to cite the fact that Michael Jordan banged in the paint without any help during his reign of terror. Sam, let me know how that call with the league office goes.

The Indiana Pacers : Auditing The 2007-08 Season, by Christopher Reina.

David Stern revealed on Wednesday that the NBA plans to review its rules on fouling away from the ball and replays in the event of clock mishaps. Both are issues that need to be addressed – now how about the flawed playoff system?

It appears as though Ed Stefanski will target a power forward this summer. Josh Smith, Elton Brand, and Antawn Jamison could all be targets, any of which I think Philadelphia would be thrilled to have.

Goodbye B.K., by Patrick J. Austin.

Indiana Coach Jim O’Brien doesn’t appear to have much confidence in point guard Jamaal Tinsley. The Tin Man’s future with the Pacers doesn’t look promising, but they’d better ensure they have a replacement before dealing him out of town.

The Diamondbacks and Brandon Webb have resumed talks involving a contract extension again, good news for Arizona fans. The complete game he threw on Thursday confirms that.

Official MLB scorers took a save away from Braves closer Manny Acosta on Thursday after it was determined that he was wrongly credited with one on Wednesday night against San Diego. Naughty, naughty Atlanta score keeper.

There are rumors that the Pirates have been fielding calls for outfielders Jason Bay and Xavier Nady. Pittsburgh has a history of dealing budding/aging stars for cheaper/lesser known talent, but they appear to think they can contend soon.

These Mets Not So Amazin’, by Graham Flashner.

Team U.S.A. wants nothing to do with Roger Clemens when it comes to the Beijing Olympics this summer. Why on Earth not?

Former Cincinnati wide receiver Chris Henry would like to join the Cowboys. What is so appealing about playing for Dallas? I suppose there are the famous cheerleaders, and the fact that Jessica Simpson will be at most home games...oh yeah, and they have a pretty decent team, as well.

Matt Walsh reportedly sent eight more tapes of spy footage to the NFL from his days as a video assistant for the Patriots. Uh, who cares?

Detroit receiver Roy Williams admitted earlier this week that he thought the Lions were going to trade him this offseason. He did receive a vote of confidence from the organization, but in today’s landscape that doesn’t mean much. Luckily for Roy, Detroit kept their word.

The Saints met with Shaun Alexander earlier this week, but have yet to offer him a contract. I’d give New Orleans some time to assess the situation, and then maybe we’ll see some kind of deal. I suppose it’s also possible that Deuce McAllister is looking good.
