I drafted my second fantasy football team of the year on Sunday night; feel free to e-mail me with your thoughts (it’s a fourteen-team league).

QBs – Philip Rivers, Matt Ryan
WRs – Chad Johnson, Plaxico Burress, Chris Chambers, Donte Stallworth, DeSean Jackson
RBs – Brian Westbrook, Ronnie Brown, Matt Forte, Shaun Alexander
TEs – Vernon Davis, Dustin Keller
K – Stephen Gostkowski
DEF - Philadelphia

Carmelo Anthony is reportedly interested in playing at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The Nuggets’ star will be 28 in four years, which is still relatively young. Of course, USA basketball will have to want him.

Goran Dragic may not sign a contract with the Suns until September, and it’s rumored they will give him first-round money despite his status as a second-round selection. Not too bad for Mr. Dragic.

Interview With Scott Fields, by Derek Flack.

Portland point guard Steve Blake is happy with his contract and appears motivated heading into the 2008-09 season. The Blazers are going to need Blake to provide them with solid play especially with inexperienced guys like Sergio Rodriguez and Jerryd Bayless at the position.

Yao Ming is furious after being benched during China’s loss to Greece on Monday, with the country close to its highest-ever Olympic finish. I’m happy to see such fire from Yao, but China was probably right to rest him for the medal round.

The Top Ten Careers of Players Picked 5th, by Andrew Perna.

Commissioner David Stern would like to have a presence in both China and India in the not-so-distant future. China has already embraced the league, thanks in large part to Yao Ming, but India might be a tougher sell. Of course, I have no idea how much they welcome NBA ball.

The Yankees have decided that they could call on Carl Pavano this weekend to start against Baltimore. New York will need to take care of business against the Jays and Orioles this week, with the Red Sox looming next week.

Believe it or not, Carlos Quentin almost began the season in the minors for the White Sox. Almost thankfully, Jerry Owens suffered an injury to cement a spot for Quentin on the team’s Major League roster. All Quentin has done is challenge for the AL’s MVP award.

Catcher Paul Lo Duca claims that his success earlier this decade wasn’t because of performance-enhancing drugs. These things are tough because I’d really like to believe Lo Duca. However, whenever he was using HGH, his body was receiving assistance.

Johan Paying Off For Mets in RealGM’s Team Rankings, by Christopher Reina.

C.C. Sabathia is 8-0 through his first eight starts with the Brewers, an amazing mark that could earn him the National League Cy Young award. Perhaps more importantly, Milwaukee is now leading the Wild Card race by a few games.

The Dolphins claim that there is no chance they will trade Ronnie Brown despite speculation started on ESPN. The rumors started when team officials hinted that Ricky Williams has looked obviously better than Brown this month.

The Jets appear to be altering their playbook slightly for Brett Favre, with offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer incorporating some Green Bay concepts into New York’s scheme. I suppose that’s the ultimate complement, but what about the dozens of guys that were used to the book?

2008 Season Preview: New England Patriots, by Jeff Risdon.

LaDainian Tomlinson claims that the Chargers have had a great camp this month. That’s a good thing, especially with a number of San Diego’s key skill players coming off injuries at the end of last season. They should be able to ease into the 2008 season with the Panthers, Raiders, and Dolphins among their first five opponents.

Peyton Manning’s newest goal is to be back on the field for the Colts when they open the season against the Bears in early September. Indianapolis needs Manning to be on the field in order to win, and fans must be on the edge of their seats with his status seemingly in doubt.

No, it’s not Free Bird…
