I drafted my most important, and final, fantasy football team on Wednesday night, and I’m indifferent about my roster. I’m beginning to think that’s a good thing because I usually feel overconfident about my team in this league. Let me know what you think; here is my roster.

QBs – Matt Hasselbeck, Philip Rivers
RBs – Joseph Addai, Thomas Jones, Felix Jones, Chris Brown
WRs – Marques Colston, Santonio Holmes, Chris Chambers
TEs – Dallas Clark, Vernon Davis
Ks – Mason Crosby
DEFs – Philadelphia, Carolina

Championship!

The Warriors took a look at Shaun Livingston on Thursday in an effort to bolster their stable of point guards. With Monta Ellis out, Marcus Williams becomes the starter – not exactly something they should be comfortable with to begin the season.

Oklahoma City will reveal the name of their NBA franchise next Wednesday afternoon on their website. There is little drama surrounding this announcement as the name is expected to be the “Thunder”. I’m not a fan of the name, which sounds extremely cheesy, but I suppose it’s better than most of the other options.

Former Pistons' coach Chuck Daly believes that Bill Laimbeer’s ‘Bad Boy’ reputation could keep him from getting a coaching job in the NBA. I don’t know if I believe that, but I do doubt that the Shock would want to see Bill go at this point.

Mike Krzyzewski is expected to remain involved in Team USA after he helped lead the team to a gold medal on Sunday morning in Beijing. USA Basketball really seems to have turned a corner after a couple of rough years in international play, so why mess with what seems to be working?

Scoop Du Jour: Special Fantasy Football Edition on Thursday. If you’d like to have a question answered, I’m still taking queries.

Taurean Green agreed to join Spain’s CAI Zaragoza on Wednesday, making him the latest guard to jump from the NBA to Europe. It seems that the level of talent heading overseas is becoming boring and almost not newsworthy. Green didn’t seem to have a future in the NBA anyway.

Brian Cashman believes that the Yankees are trying despite their struggles this season. Most teams would love to have the record New York does right now, but in the Big Apple a winning record isn’t enough. If Jason Giambi’s game-winning RBI in the bottom of the ninth against Boston doesn’t wake the Yankees up, I don’t think anything will.

What Will They Do In October?, by Andrew Perna.

After one respectable start, the Yankees have reportedly placed Carl Pavano on trade waivers. I don’t know if anyone is going to be interested in him, but he should get another chance to impress potential suitors on Friday night against the Blue Jays.

Theo Epstein claims that the Red Sox are done making moves this summer, but the continued uncertainty surrounding Josh Beckett might change that. Boston’s ace will pay a visit to Dr. James Andrews, a name no pitcher wants to hear.

The Mets could swing a deal with the Reds to fortify their bullpen if they don’t feel guys like Billy Wagner are getting healthy quick enough. David Weathers, Jeremy Affeldt, and Francisco Cordero are all possibilities, each of whom New York’s struggling bullpen would welcome.

Once again Jimmy Rollins is making news for his words, claiming that the Phillies are still unimpressed by the celebratory tactics of the rival Mets. J-Roll believes that New York showed too much emotion after jumping out to a 7-0 lead in Philadelphia on Tuesday, thanks to a pair of home runs. I don’t buy it. I was at Citizens Bank Park and didn’t catch any “excessive” celebrations.

The Chargers may not re-sign linebacker Shawne Merriman, clouding his future on the field up even more in wake of his serious knee injury. I said this earlier in the week, but his decision to play on two damaged ligaments is a mistake. He could be costing himself both a career and a number of millions.

Somebody Buy My Mind A Roadmap, by Jeff Risdon.

Texans' running back Ahman Green agreed to restructure his contract on Thursday, helping Houston save roughly $2 million dollars towards the salary cap. I couldn’t decide which of the Houston running backs to take in the final round of my fantasy football draft, so I took Chris Brown. That could end up being a bad call.

The NFL reportedly reinstated Cowboys cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones on Thursday, and he will be able to play in Week One of the season. This is big for Dallas, who didn’t need the extra drama surrounding the Pacman’s need to be reinstated. Now, let’s see if he can still play.

2008 Season Preview: Jaguars, by Risdon.

2008 Season Preview: Lions, by Risdon.

Rudi Johnson fully expects the Bengals to go ahead and trade him at some point this year. I was discussing this with a buddy on Wednesday night, and I don’t who would take Johnson at this point. No one is in dire need of a running back, and I don’t think he’d start over any incumbent either.

And The Winner Is…, by Michael J. Jones.

RealGM’s 2008 FF Rankings – V4.0, by Perna.

Red Wings' General Manager Ken Holland claims that the team will not sign veteran center Mats Sundin. Sundin has been making the rounds in hopes of finding a new home, but the stacked defending-champions don’t need to be interested.
