I’m becoming addicted to ESPN’s ‘Streak For Cash’ game. It’s too bad I’m horrible at it.

The Warriors have suspended Monta Ellis thirty games for his moped-induced injury, which will cost him $3 million in salary this season. The ban will begin on the first night of the regular season, which means he probably won’t miss any games because of the suspension as he heals.

Hawks' super sophomore Al Horford believes that his team is stronger this season than it was last year when they pushed the Celtics to the limit in the first round. He’s probably right, but it’ll be several months before we know if he’s prophetic.

The Best Team Money Can Buy?, by Christopher Reina/Andrew Perna.

Vote Here (for me) For the Best +13 Team!

Olympiacos, the Greek Club that signed Josh Childress this summer, plans to continue coveting NBA stars in the coming years. Their goal is to field the best non-NBA team in the world, and with their $70 million budget…it’s highly possible they soon will.

2008-09 NBA Simulation Presented by 2K Sports, by A.P.

Magic Coach Stan Van Gundy stayed connected with his players this off-season via text message – a sign of a technological times in the NBA. I think it’s important for a coach to show a personal side to his team, somewhat like how Doc Rivers and Byron Scott have done things.

Hank Steinbrenner regrets not pushing harder for Johan Santana last winter when other members of the organization preferred keeping youngsters like Phil Hughes and Ian Kennedy. New York would probably be in the playoffs had they traded for Santana, but at such young ages, the jury should still be out for Hughes and Kennedy.

Auditing The 2008 Season: San Francisco Giants, by C.R.

Josh Beckett reportedly received an injection in his oblique during the last weekend of the regular season to relieve pain and inflammation. That’s almost certainly why he’s struggling in the postseason. Beckett has an 11.57 ERA in 9 1/3 innings this October.

Silence May Be Golden When Facing Matsuzaka, by James Morisette.

The Red Sox and Rays tied a postseason record with seven home runs in Game 2 of the ALCS on Saturday night. Amazingly, all seven of those homers were hit in the first 4 ½ innings, so it’s surprising that they didn’t establish a new record.

MLB’s 2009 Free Agents, by A.P.

Curt Schilling reportedly could have pitched for the Red Sox in the postseason had he undergone surgery when Dr. Craig Morgan suggested it last winter. Schilling eventually had surgery in June, ruling him out for the remainder of the year. Bad move, Mr. 38Pitches.com.

The Giants reportedly are interested in tight end Tony Gonzalez after the Chiefs made it known that they would consider dealing him for the right price. He would add another fold into New York’s dynamic offense, and send Kevin Boss to the bench in the process.

Turning Point For Texans, by Anthony Holds.

Tim Tebow led Florida in a rout of LSU on Saturday, 51-21, which he pretty much predicted heading into the weekend. Tebow claimed that no other player in college football would try as hard as he would through the rest of the season, and three touchdowns defend that.

Maintaining The Proper Figure, by A.P.

The Flyers have lost Randy Jones for 3-to-4 months after surgery on his left hip. Philadelphia also lost to the Rangers, who moved to 4-0, on Saturday night. I think all the blame belongs on Sarah Palin.

Pretty nice gameplay…
