Dear Readers:

Well, tonight is my first regular season game in the NBA. We play my hometown team, the Dallas Mavericks . When I was younger, I watched the Mavericks and Jason Kidd a lot. In fact, in many ways, I patterned my game after him. To open up tonight against the Mavs just makes all of this even more special. What will make it even better is getting a win. I'm not sure if I'll be starting tonight or not. Truthfully, it doesn't matter. I'm just ready to play and help the Jazz win.

Training camp and pre-season weren't bad. I felt like I was in good shape and just tried to absorb everything Coach Sloan wants from me as a point guard and from the team. I'm learning a lot from Coach Sloan and the rest of the Jazz staff. I've been very fortunate to play for some great coaches in my career--- my high school coach Tommy Thomas, Bill Self and Bruce Weber when I was at Illinois and now Coach Sloan. Each of them taught me things that are going to help make me successful in the NBA.

Before training camp started, I spent a week with John Stockton at his home in Washington. We talked about playing in the NBA, the types of things to expect, how to prepare for games, foes and the season. We even worked out together. Don't be fooled by his size, he is still strong enough to play. He's in great shape. I know that not many players get the opportunity to spend time with the greatest player at their position and I really appreciated the opportunity.

I've moved into my new house in SLC. It's cool. I've got a game room in the basement that has ping-pong, air hockey and pool tables. I'm up in the mountains with great views of the city. I also picked up my new car Mercedes Benz AMG G55

Well, today's a busy day, so I'm going to run. I'll write again soon.

Peace,

D
