Washington center Brendan Haywood and Memphis' Shane Battier have been named the NBA's rookie's of the month for the Eastern and Western conferences respectively, the Washington Post is reporting.

Haywood averaged 7.9 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.2 blocked shots during December

Battier averaged 15.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.47 steals while starting in all 15 games for the Grizzlies for the month.
