Jerry Brewer of the Orlando Sentinel reports that Horace Grant is not recovering from surgery as well as expected. He had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in September and was expected to be ready to play by now. Unfortunately, he does not have enough strength in the knee.

He normally can squat 250 pounds. Currently his damaged knee only allows him to squat 50 pounds.

The Magic are contemplating activating Olumide Oyedeji from the injured list and replacing him with Grant. Grant says he "is not ready to go anytime soon". "At this stage in my career and the way my knee is now, I'm receptive to anything," Grant said. "I don't need to play until I'm pain-free."
