Forward LaVell Blanchard, who led Michigan in scoring and rebounding for four consecutive years, looked better in his second game than his first. He came off the bench and shot 4-for-9 for eight points, with three assists and three rebounds in 19 minutes. Previously he started at small forward and shot 2-for-7 for four points, with no assists or rebounds in 15 minutes. One scout said he expected Blanchard to have his best game today because "he clearly does better over time." Blanchard admitted he needed time to get comfortable, saying, "I think I haven't really shown a lot and a lot of improvement is needed." |
