A year ago this week, Steve Logan donned a Warriors hat and talked about competing for minutes at point guard.

In the time since the Warriors took him with the 30th pick of the 2002 draft, Logan has had more agents than baskets, more false starts than assists. Now, after a year without professional basketball, he is back in the Bay Area trying to get trim and fit himself into the Warriors' plans.

Logan returned here three weeks ago and has been working with a strength and conditioning coach, according to agent Aaron Goodwin, who said he is advising the former Cincinnati standout.

A league source said Logan has not spoken with his agent, Joel Bell, in at least three months. Bell could not be reached for comment Monday.

Goodwin eventually could become the player's third representative in a year,
