Steve Logan, whom the Warriors selected in the second round of the 2002 NBA draft, worked out for team officials Monday morning. The Warriors are trying to determine whether to invite Logan to play in Long Beach on their summer league team, which opens play Wednesday. Logan, a 6-foot point guard, went unsigned all of last season. He worked out individually under the direction of assistant coach Jim Boylen in front of general manager Garry St. Jean and executive director of basketball operations Otis Smith, according to the Warriors. The Warriors didn't want to comment on the workout and said they will make a determination on Logan's status in the next few days. The Warriors selected Logan with the 30th pick of last summer's draft. However, Logan and the Warriors never reached an agreement on a contract. Logan, who played on the Warriors' summer league team last summer, signed a contract with the Mobile Revelers of the USDL near midseason, which ensured that the Warriors would retain his NBA rights. Had Logan not signed a contract, he would have been free to re-enter the 2003 draft or be an invite to any NBA camp -- had he not been selected. |
