The Nuggets, as expected, waived guard Predrag Savovic by the Monday deadline in his contract.

Had Savovic not been let go, his contract would have been fully guaranteed for the NBA second-year minimum of $563,679.

"(Savovic is) disappointed, but it wasn't unexpected," said Savovic's agent, Marc Cornstein, whose client struggled in the summer leagues. "He's a very mature guy. He's grateful for the opportunity Denver gave him."

Cornstein said the Nuggets have offered Savovic, who traveled Monday to his native Serbia and Montenegro, the chance to come to training camp with a non-guaranteed deal.

Cornstein said it's a possibility, but that Savovic also is looking at several situations in Europe that are "more pressing" because rosters must be set by the end of the month.
