SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) Tim Duncan sat out for the eighth time in the San Antonio Spurs' last nine games Sunday, resting his injured left knee against the Sacramento Kings.

The two-time MVP returned from a six-game layoff to play 15 minutes against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, but didn't play against Golden State on Friday.

Duncan participated in light drills during the Spurs' shootaround on Saturday, but wasn't ready for game time.

Duncan is the NBA's seventh-leading scorer with 22.9 points per game, and his 12.8 rebounds rank third. The Spurs have no plans to put Duncan on the injured list, coach Gregg Popovich said earlier.
