With Damon Jones off to Cleveland, the Heat has shown interest in Washington restricted free agent Steve Blake and scheduled workouts with former Bulls point guard Jay Williams and ex-Cleveland guard Dajuan Wagner, sources said.

''We wanted Damon. We felt this was the best place for him,'' Riley said. ``What they wanted, we were unwilling to do. We traded for a starting point guard. How much are you willing to pay a backup?''

Besides Blake, other free agent point guards still available include Gary Payton (who would like to play for the Heat), Travis Best, Jannero Pargo, Frank Williams, Eddie House and Howard Eisley. Starting shooting guard Dwyane Wade might receive some playing time at point guard
