Former Timberwolves guard Fred Hoiberg, who is still sidelined after undergoing open heart surgery last summer, said it will be some time before he plays this year if he does decide to play. Hoiberg said he realizes that it will be difficult for whatever team he might play for to get insurance on him. "I would probably have to sign a waiver," he said Sunday.

"[Former San Antonio forward] Sean Elliott played after he had a serious kidney problem. I talked to him and he had to sign a waiver."
