The road is now clear for Brian Davis, Christian Laettner and their partners to buy Michael Heisley's 70 percent share of the Grizzlies. The price is $252 million, based on a franchise value of $360 million.
The Grizzlies' local minority-share ownership group won't act on its right to buy out majority owner Michael Heisley.
Local-group member J.R. ''Pitt'' Hyde III confirmed that decision Thursday night.
