Alan Henderson could be returning to the 76ers.

President/general manager Billy King won't say it, but that is apparently the plan.

The Sixers sent the backup big man to the Utah Jazz just before the NBA trading deadline to bring their payroll below the league's luxury-tax trigger-point. In the deal, the Sixers sent along sufficient cash to cover the remainder of Henderson's salary. The Jazz subsequently waived him.

The Sixers, left with just 12 players on their roster, one below the minimum league requirement, added forward Louis Amundson Thursday on a 10-day contract. They could not bring Henderson back until March 24, 30 days after the trade.
