The Charlotte Bobcats waived 31-year-old point guard Brevin Knight on Friday.

Knight had a buyout clause in his contract.

He averaged 9.1 points and 6.6 assists per game last season in only 45 games of action.

The Bobcats will now need to obtain a point to back up starter Raymond Felton.
