Elias Ayuso scored 39 points and Carlos Arroyo had 30 and 10 assists as Puerto Rico beat Brazil 111-107 for the bronze medal at the FIBA Americas event Sunday.

"There was no panic in the end," Puerto Rico coach Manuel Cintron said. "The team went from less to more and we grew throughout the competition."

Both teams failed in their bids to qualify for the Beijing Olympics on Saturday but they will get another final chance at a qualifying tournament one month before the Summer Games.
