Toronto Raptors forward Jorge Garbajosa will play for Spain in the European basketball championships after all.

Garbajosa, who broke his fibula and dislocated his ankle in a gruesome injury in March, will suit up after Spain at the tournament after the Spanish national team reached an agreement with the Raptors, according to a release on the FIBA EuroBasket website.

"For me this is a very special moment," Garbajosa said. "I told everyone from the beginning that my goal was to play this summer."

Raptors officials said they planned to release a statement later Sunday.
