Ellis took another step Wednesday toward returning, increasing the speed 'and intensity of his individual workout with Warriors trainer Mark Grabow. Ellis talked to reporters for the first time since he was injured Oct. 5 when his head hit Wright's hipbone during a scrimmage. Ellis felt tingling in his arms, prompting the team to hold him motionless and face-down on the floor for more than half an hour until an ambulance arrived. "It's just a process," Ellis said. "Whenever you go down like that, it takes time (to heal), and you don't want to rush back too early and then go back to the same thing again." Coach Don Nelson said earlier this week that Ellis might need to fill the same role he did last season - splitting time between the point and shooting guard spots - because Ellis has lost so much practice time as point guard Baron Davis' backup. |
